How to wire up parallel fuel pump switch?

Well I did take the truck to be dynoed. When I was driving it over it felt much the same as when I took it in to the shop.

Without the PMT loaded it ended up with 260 HP at the wheels. I was quite surprised. When the PMT was loaded on tow mode, it was over 300. The extreme setting was about 380 HP. The only problem is that near the end of the run a noise started coming from the turbo. So now I can't test it further because the turbo impeller is rubbing when it gets up to 1500-2000 rpm. Sounds like I will have to rebuild the turbo now. Does it ever end? I am still leary about the power readings from the dyno. All that was really done was the fuel filter replaced.

When the turbo is repaired I will let the forum know if power is truly restored.

Thanks for everyones comments and suggestions.

Are you sticking with a stock turbo? This is just such a perfect time to get a 62mm turbo that can take abuse...

I have had enough problems with this truck I am thinking about getting rid of it. For the trailer I have I would be better off with a long bed, possibly dually. Then the extra money for the turbo upgrade may be good money after bad. However I have beefed up the trans and have the air bags and superglide hitch. I am concerned that since it does not blow any smoke on the high settings that it may not be fixed. True the dyno readings did show a difference between the PMT settings but I am unable to do further tests because of the noise from the turbo impeller.

I have been told that the stock turbo, if not covered on warranty is about $1,300 to replace the cartridge plus a couple hours labour. I see the BD Diesel Performance Super B single is only $1,575 for 250 - 425 HP.

Tomeygun

What turbo would you recommend if I did upgrade? Would I also then need injector upgrades or would I be able to keep my current? What do you think about the BD Diesel Performance Super B single for the 425 HP? Will this interfear with the ECM cutting back on fuel with higher boost?

Thanks

Richard

Forgive me for chiming in late here, but it's never been noted that the air filter has been changed. Has it been changed recently?

And, 24PSI is not high to me for boost. Won't the stock turbo run up to 32PSI on stock fueling? I don't know on the 2003's, but I know the 04. 5 I have will do that.

Higher boost does not equal more power btw. You should be able to keep everything else you have the same.

High Tech Turbo (HTT) and Industrial Injection (II) both have S300 variantes that are 62mm front ends and seem to extremely well even with only slightly modifed trucks...

I would go with either of them (also check the TDR classifieds, I always find good deals in there - make sure it is a member though)

For us poor suckers with 03's we only see low to mid 20's:{
