I ordered pacbrake air bags and should be getting them tomorrow. Looking closer at the clearance and how they'll install I'm a little worried that they (or any air bag) will fit because of the 'cool dual' exhaust.

Anybody running air bags with MBRP duals?

Any issues with heat destroying the bags?

we are looking into this and should have the answers soon

Thanks.

I'll be installing them Saturday so I'll give an update if I needed to mod the exhaust.

I got the air bags, tank, compressor, switches and other misc stuff today. All I can say is WOW - you guys really do care! Attention has been given to every detail even down to labeling each bracket. If this kit WORKS as good as you guys pack & document it I'll be one happy customer!!! Very nicely done!

Doesn't work. Not even close.

Driver side needs to be re-routed to other side of shock.

Looks like may be going back to stock exhaust! :{

This may be too late to help you, but I have the same exhaust as you. I bought the air bag kit for a 2nd gen, and had the upper bracket welded to the outside of the frame and the bag bottom goes on top of the springs. Please - no flaming about welding to a hydroformed frame - And I had it done by a professional fabricator.

:confused: Still don't see how doing that will give you more room. The exhaust tube itself is in the way. These exhausts have some play so depending on how they get installed and what angle the pipes are at might give one person more room over the next, but in general I don't see how its possible. I've decided to go with stacks anyway so this makes airbags much easier! :-laf

Haven't installed either yet though... . been really busy. Probably going to get the stacks installed this Friday or Saturday, then work on the airbags. The bags themselves seem pretty straight forward. Doing the air tank, compressor, valves, incab controls, air horn (had to get one ;) ) and air couplers for filling the tires are whats going to take some time!

NJT, I've got these (air bags) on all my trucks but with stock exhaust..... wish I could offer some help be I'll be following the posts here... .

Harold... . go kick Bill for me... . I'm waiting on the kit for my 5500... What's UP??? BTW- he(Bill) really is a nice young man.....

we run super springs with the wife 01 with cool duals and we have had no problems but i hope you find an answer to your air bag clearence issues

Been busy so moving slow on this. Finally got the dual stacks in place. They look and sound sweet!!! I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Although this makes room around the axle for the air bags I probably won't get them installed for another few weeks... till after tax time! Just way too busy now... :{

I'm about to buy Pacbrakes Airbags, but have a couple of questions. How beefy/stout are the brackets? Also, I have a single pipe 5" exhaust system from MBRP. Am I going to have fitment issues? Lastly, any pics out there?

Thanks,

Sid
