NoSeeUm when I turn the duration up high in my truck, the truck seems sluggish. I think we all have alot of testing to do. But for DD I like SW3,TQ6,TM3,D0. TST Off.
I tested this myself, I really did not find it to be true or false. I am not sure the effect that duration has as it is so over shadowed by any torque adjsutment.
One thing I did find that I am now 100% certain of:
This is correct.....
You have to re-load the software for it to make changes in the ECM.
John Cameron, is the MAN!!!!
This is wrong... .
I do not think you have to reload sw9, all you do is plug in the smarty and go to adjust options. From their you can quickly make option changes and it writes in about 3 sec. then your done.
Sounds good, but no cigar... .
Last night I changed TM from 3 to 6 by "Adjust Options" only. The update took about 3 seconds and I could definately feel a difference in how the engine performed.
Must have been a placebo effect...
Last night I decided to experiment a little. With the engine still running I changed from D6 to D2 and also changed T2 to T5. I did this change with the engine still running and it seemed to work fine. Basically no different than having the engine off and the key on.
Ah, at last fully decieved... .
I went one step further and tryed it while driving down the road, no problems here
Errr, bad idea says Bob W. :{
I now think that the Smarty loads the options only into only its own memory not the trucks ECM memory when the message something like "loaded options into memory" is displayed, after the 3 second delay. These options are then loaded into the ECM when it does a regular Catcher SW update.
