The Night before Christmas

Like "rolling coal" ??

I have been letting the GF drive Mighty Whitey, which has been fun... I have been turning off the Smarty altogether, and yesterday, I left it on 9... She learned how to smoke people out yesterday. . She is easing into it a little too slow, allowing the turbo to spool and clean up... She dropped it into 6th and hammered on it yesterday, and did get rid of one tailgater which was pretty damn funny! When she picks the wrong gear, or starts off dumping the clutch too hard, we get a big nasty cloud of smoke!! She's coming around though! Just thought I would post this... Something to chuckle about!

. . I was brought up that when a funeral procession rolls by, you are supposed to stop whatever it is you are doing, and take your hat off to pay respect to that person. Weather and traffic permitting, while in your vehicle, you are supposed to pull over, and get out, with your hat off... Maybe it's just the way I was brought up, but that's still how I practice to this day.

That is how Sheriff Buford T. Justice does it.

Yeah but smokey doesn't say "stiff" unless you are watching it on regular television. On cable or the dvd he says "sum bich"

Too funny. . I was watching the movie at work the other day. . Yes, at work. . I just had shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago, and I have doctors notes that I can take Darvocets at work, which renders me useless, except for naps and movies... Not a bad time of year either!

i laid a nice mine field cloud a couple hundred feet long for a oncoming chevy the other day on a 2 lane, if i roll on it just right in too tall of a gear the arm will under shoot the plate and with the 4" dual pipes i can render a couple lanes useless :-laf #ad

Comin' off 270 yesterday on my way home and noticed a bright yellow Ford closing fast behind me. Had the fancy hood and chrome 5"exhaust... looked nice for a 6. 0!!!Didn't see any gauges so I figured it was just air cleaner, exhaust and programmer fast. He pulled along side and I guess he was provoked by my stacks because he proceeded to rev on his truck insanely. The light changed green and he took off burning the tires and I couldn't help but laugh. My wife was with me so I had to get the go ahead 1st from her... . Anyway, the next light was red and we stopped next to each other again and this kid nodded as if he was confident the stakes were in his favor. The light went green and his tires lit up again and my truck just planted the rear and took off. I have to admit that his truck had the edge for a bit... looked down real quick to see what the boost gauge was reading and then my truck jerked violently. The jerk happened to be my 5-star locking and when that happened, the truck length lead he had started to close rapidly. I went by him easily after that, but had to back down fast because the speedo and the better half were both reading the danger zone.

Naturally,if he was loaded and I was pulling my trailer like a normally am,there would be no contest. Those 6. 0 are fast unloaded, but a trailer behind em' makes them putt around like an under-powered golf cart.

Unfortunately,I never got to smoke this guy because he was ahead of me for the 1st part... . and when I jumped ahead of him,the turbo was spooled and cleaned everything up for him:mad: ..... almost like I had a DPF!!!

I know it's not a smoke story but I hope you enjoyed it!!!

I was busy talking on the phone while going up the moderate grade on I-70 westbound... . South Mountain... . and this new Duramax comes by while I was behaving! Behaving means I was conserving fuel and following the slower traffic in the slow lane. I was running about 60mph and effortlessly cruising while pulling my box trailer and this young kid blasted by in his Duramax with it to the floor and gasping. He was pulling a trailer also and though he may have been hauling more weight, the Cummins would have easily crested the grade with nothing more than a pinch of throttle to maintain. I pulled into his lane behind him and easily closed the gap and then jumped into the fast lane and prepared to pass. When I got beside him,I heard his Allison drop down another gear... . which meant he was trying to keep me from passing. I didn't think his half-witted attempt would do any good... . and it didn't!!After proving he was no match,I figured it would be insulting to just hang there waiting for his next move. His truck gave it all it had to him and he wouldn't even look over at me anymore,so I just pulled ahead of him and moved over in front and watched him slowly disappear in my mirror with the accompanying smoke.

He did re-appear later on the downward slope and I was in the slow-lane again just cruising. He didn't even look as he passed this time!!

97 12 valve VS. 80' something Subaru wagon

It was -52* a couple of January's ago and I was in a local store buying some kerosene to thaw my basement out with. I was parked way out in the back forty of this parking lot, totally away from everyone. This woodpig, earthmuffin greenie type parks right beside me and my high idle was cranked up to about 2000 rpms so I could have something resembling heat. Obviously she didn't care for my 5" bullydog exhaust because when I came out she was in my face and screaming at me because of how I was killing mother earth and all of it's inhabitants with my vile pollution. I didn't say a word to her mainly because I was in disbelief. She proceeded to follow me around to the drivers door and kept on nagging. I still said nothing. As I pulled out of the parking spot she made the mistake of hitting my passenger window with her fist... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... pushing my anger button in the process. I mashed the old 12 valver to the floor with the transmission in neutral and totally engulfed the little suby driver to the point of making her run from the "death cloud" as my friends called it. When I looked back she was leaning against her car in a state of total disarray. I actually think it scared the hell out of her because every time I saw her after that she would literally run in the other direction. Problem solved in my book!:D

No, the problem wasn't solved,(funny though) you just filled her with even more anger towards trucks and especially Diesel trucks. Which, I'm sure she went to her little Green weenie blog, and chatted with a whole lot more of her greenie friends about how they should DO something about this trucks that are killing the Earth.

And then she called her Congessman-woman? And DEMANDED something be done... ...

And what did you do?

Went home chuckling to yourself, not even realizing you are part of Charlans coffin nailing brigade of slow thinkers who are killing the Diesel Performance industry.

I'll bet she voted last election, did you?

After the last election, the green weenies are in charge right now, folks, you had better change your behavior or they will change it for you.

This has been quiet for almost a month!! Are you guys growing up-or getting arrested?

Pennsylvania crack down, coming soon to a city near you,From another site:

"Suddenly the cop forgets about the cool truck, and all hes sees is DORK driver with DORK stacks, smoking the DORK out of people. "

The issue with the fire and lawsuit came from a "dork" who was hauling the gas can in the bed of a gasser pickup equipped with stacks according to the PSP Inspection officer I know. Quick stop due to accident, can hits stacks and the flames erupt. Both vehicles totally lost due to the ensuing fire and add the extra stress due to having to cut someone from the other vehicle while they were trapped with the P/U burning. As he explained to me the ensuing lawsuit meant the State would enforce laws which were already on the books.

****The law states that all stacks,no matter if its a gasser or diesel, must have a heat sheild, period. *****

They are also now in my area making sure your muffler equipped and they are NOT taking the turbo as a muffling device anymore.

In my area its mostly the younger crowd who are running stacks and seems like every time I see one the soot is flying. We have a kid in our shop at work who

***** just got fined for creating a hazardous condition and reckless endangerment(both which are their catch 22 laws) for smogging out a intersection bad with a cop sitting in the Sheetz store at the intersection. ******

He could not believe that he was cited and is taking him to court. All I could do is shake my head and think... here's your sign.

Other things according to my buddy the PSP Inspection Cop said that they are watching and will be stopping...

Lifted vehicles... . Looking for mudflaps, tires beyond the factory body lines and the new lift law height which is now checked at the windshield cowl, not the headlights like it used to be.

Tire sizes and bumper heights... In the inspection book it clearly states that no more than one size over factory size is deemed legal. Carry on and we will be seeing a rash of trucks getting whacked for this one as most all of us are guilty of this one. The bumper heights are going to be checked at the factory mounting area.

In my chat with him while he was here and we were reloading shells he made sure to say the problem driver would be the ones to get hammered. As Gene said, create an issue and expect to be cited its a simple deal... ..... Andy

P. S. -One last word of advice he gave me for those who feel the need to show their childish manners with their reworked trucks. The Federal Law on tampering with exhaust systems is very clear when the vehicle is equipped with emissions equipment from the factory. So you get stopped for being a "Dork",instead of arguing with the officer about how "legal" your unmuffled stacks are, keep in mind what should be on your truck from Ma Mopar,Ford or GM and think how fat that ticket is going to be because you were stupid.

Thanks fellas!!!!#@$%!:{

After reading what you said Gene I have to say I agree a lot with it, I mean we are all guilty of it from time to time especially when we are dealing with other idiot drivers.

Now some things I would like to touch on: I have a lifted vehicle that runs a 38” tire on a truck that was OEM equipped with a 31” tire, which makes it TOTALLY ILLIGAL and I know that. Therefore every time I take it out of the garage im at risk for a ticket or impoundment. I know my vehicle is safe but they don’t. I personally have been pulled over probably over 10 times with my Dakota for 1 reason or another but mostly because of my tire size, lift amount & the tires protruding beyond the body line. Of the times that I have been stopped I have only been given a ticket one time and it was for protruding tires at the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle. The officer was totally unprofessional as far as his attitude goes and I knew from the start their was no way of talking my way out of it, so I just took it and paid it, cuz he could have gotten me for many other things along with what he already did. Other times that I have gotten pulled over even by the PSP and I am totally honest and straight forward with the officer and I never, never argue with him because he is right for pulling me over. I have found that the more professional and courteous you treat them the better they will treat you and that is the bottom line. I had a PSP officer nail me one morning when I was going to work and the conversation started out with him impounding my truck and writing a order to repair ended up with me out of the truck explaining everything that we had done to it and that I was only driving it cuz my primary vehicle was broke down and was being repaired that day. After about a 10 min conversation he told me to be on my way and thanked me for not arguing with him and being honest with him when he asked me if I knew what was not if my truck was illegal. Bottom line is if you think you are going to argue your way out a problem with an officer you are wrong. Be kind, be courteous, and most of all be honest and you will increase your chances of driving away without a citation. Another tip I will give is to keep your vehicle clean and not to attract attention with mud hanging from your truck (I know it is fun but wash it off when you are done bogging). If you are driving like you are trying to attract attention, you probably will and it will usually be of the red and blue light variety.

Good post, 6B. I can't believe the clown I was talking about is going to court over it. Talk about carrying the hens into the foxs lair!!!!

Wait until somebody hits a kid, and they tell the officer, "I couldn't see because of the smoke from that big diesel truck with stacks. That guy smoked the whole intersection up. "

It will be all over except the ticket writing, and the court dates. :{:{

No smoke here....

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst has eliminated the smoke from my mostly stock truck. I run with the Hypertech on Stage 3 all the time and even if I put it to the floor, there's still basically little smoke. I can't tell if its added any mileage but it has removed the soot from the exhaust.

Also, Will's 98. 5 has little smoke either, maybe both trucks smoke very little due to the WVO we use?

I wuz sitting at a lite the other day. A suburban pulled up beside me an beeped his horn. I opened my window. The guy says Hey, u know you need a tuneup? I looked at him like, HUH?? Yeah he says, I'm a diesel mechanic and you need the rack retuned. Take it to a good shop and they'll fix it up for you. I said thanx and the lite goes green. I tramped it a lil to git a slight puff. Didn't see him afterward. My truck does haze at idle due to lowered compression and big injectors. I just thought it was funny!!

I was down in Panama City Beach, fl for spring break just a couple weeks ago and I was driving my buddy's cummins. He has an 04 with a 4 inch exhaust and a smarty on it. Its a little more fun to drive than my 01 since I dont have an edge yet. Anyway, we were driving to grab some lunch between drinking sessions and i was behind one of those mopeds you can rent down there. No i didnt smoke out any mopeds or motorcycles because that isnt right. But were were coming up on a green light at an intersection and there were 5 girls waiting to turn left in a goofy looking golf cart. For some reason they thought it would be funny to start soing some weird dancing in the lane that we were driving in because we were going straight through the light. the moped went around them to the right and i had to slow down almost to a stop before they moved. So I rolled on it out of the intersection and with the way the wind was blowing it put a big ol cloud of smoke right in their golf cart. Next time they'll think about dancing in front of a cummins. it pretty much made my week down there.

On the way to the dyno yesterday, I was running with 3 other friends. We hit the main road an all firmly planted our foot on the floor. My lil 4bt took out about half a mile of road! Not much traffic on the road at the time so I felt safe in fogging my friends! They said it was pitch black an stank terrible! I just laughed. I'm not one to smoke people out like that, but fellow diesel friends... with very little traffic around? SURE!!

I was leaving work the other day, and there is a group of panhandlers who work the corners nearby from time to time... Well, the light went green just about the time the beggar was walking by the soot chute!!! 3rd gear, with a little throttle, and I shot a cloud that engulfed him completely! my foreman was behind me, and the next day when we got to work, he told me that he got a kick out of the smoke show! it was too irresistable to pass up!
