My 2006 5. 9L 3500 has been giving me a lot of problems since the new ECM (1 year old). Constantly throws the wait to start light with the code P1222 and P1223. The stealership said that I needed new injectors so I did some research and no one seemed to like the factor rebuilds so I bought 100 HP Industrial injection injectors. Light stayed off for about 1000 miles and the WTS decided to come back on. Now it only throws the P1222 code and will not stay idling but if I were to clear the codes with a code reader the problem of not staying idling disappears and the pick up seems to run fine for another 100 miles or so until the light comes back on.

In my research of talking to individuals and reading on forums my problem could possibly be the "Chrysler bug" which IMO it is something with the computer seeing as clearing the codes the pick up runs fine until the light comes on.

My first question is what is your opinion on this issue?
My second question is what is your opinion on purchasing a programmer to replace the factory ECM code?
And in addition to the second what programmer do you prefer?

It isn't a problem with the ECM, it's doing what it is programmed to do. The code means the pump is having a hard time keeping the pressure where it wants it. That means the high pressure side has a leak. It usually means bad injectors, but in your case the new injectors are flowing more fuel, and probably acting just like a bad injector again.

Programing will NOT defeat the feature, their are work arounds, But I only handle them VIA Phone. If you disclose the Problem and the seller (Injectors) had no fix other then take your money, Well... ... ... ... ... .

It isn't a bug, its a diagnostic DTC and meant to save the engine when it sees performance problems. It is in all the newer software, evem the Smarty. Programmer is not going to get rid of it. You might check with EFI to see if they have to ability to change its parameters. Marco was also working on a "fix" for it but have not heard if he got it to work.

Get rid of the 100 HP injectors, thats a start. Uograde the fuel delivery system and see if it will compensate, if the injectors aren't returning too much fuel that is. Welcome to the electonics world. :)

So, I'm just thinking out loud here, would an upgraded CP3 solve this issue? Or like cerberusiam said just go back to stock?

I'm wishing I had my old 93 12 valve back, all these electronics are causing me headaches I did not foresee trying to do some small upgrades.

At best only for a period of time, Your problem can be easily resolve ,Go back to POST # 3 , I give up... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....
