There is a possible dead pedal fix by a third party (vender) for the CTD as well as many other makes and models of cars and trucks. I don't mean to tease everyone, but it was brought up here at May Madness, and one will be installed out here on a truck. Ill post more info when its revealed to us here.

We'll all find out on Sat when a new truck gets the fix, its only been teased here At May Madness, I'm not purpously teasing anyone, but I have a feeling it will be popular.

Sweet Lord Almighty I hope so!!!! Just got back from a trip to L.A. towing my enclosed car trailer and with a car on the return. Going when I was empty was worse than coming back. Probably because I was in 5th all the way back. Had another problem down there that I will post on a new thread.

I'm not teasing here, for we're being teased as well, but a truck here at MM will get one for the test. Tomorrow evening I'll post what happened with it, but as confident as the vender is, we expect it to work.

RVTRKN, hate to ask you to do my bidding but if you get a chance, would you ask the factory rep(s) if they have heard of the problem I just posted about not being able to move the key back past accessary position and not being able to remove the key fob. In acc., the power is still on. Thanks in advance and I know how busy they and you are there so if you cannot, I understand. I am interested in knowing if this is a widespread problem or just an unusual glitch that happened to my truck.

OK, Joseph Donelly and Ron Savage installed the "Instant Throttle Response" from BD performance on their trucks, and just driving around the block had smiles on their faces. Ron installed one Friday night and when he returned the next day had a very big grin on his face, and it doesen't tune any thing, it just changes the signal from the throttle to eliminate the dead pedal feel and at the same time makes your truck more responsive. According to the factory reps, it shouldn't harm the warranty, as it doesn't change anything in the ECM and leaves no footprint. I'll have one as soon as I can get one ordered for my trucks.

Sorry MJWinrich the reps had already left due to commitments in Ontario California, so I didn't get the chance to ask, did you get it resolved?

RVTRKN: The link is good but it only list Dodge/Ram trucks up to 2012. Im assuming there's a product for 2013 + trucks but not yet listed on the site??

No, I have not taken it to the dealer yet. This just happened this week and I will go next week but wanted to go armed with info if possible. Thanks for trying though.

The device has been around for over 1 year, While they hoot and ha en did they check the rail hang that module produces? and why would anyone want to drop $$$ on any device that can be overcome by just pushing farther on the go pedal. Why do people buy a truck that weights in at over 7800lbs and expect to move like a 3200lbs Dodge Charger with a Hemi.

Both My 13/14 get right up and move, maybe removing the fuel restrictors in the rail had something to do with it....

Joes truck is a 2013 and Rons truck is a 2014, there was no mention of it not listed. I opened the link and they are listed, note on the line "Ram--1500/2500/3500--2008 thru 2015--All engines---1057712*"

Harold from BD has left already, so I can't ask about that now, but the two trucks here that got one, responded well to the devise and the smiles were big and wide. I've experienced the dead pedal on my 2014 mostly in heavy traffic and its not just pushing the pedal farther down to get it to go faster, its just non responsive for a split second. I'm no electonics expert, but it only plugs into the throttle sensor at the pedal, so I'm not sure how that would cause the rail pressure to "hang". As far as a 8K pound truck not moving as fast as a 3K pound car, you must be missing the issue, it just won't go and when the trucks does get the signal to go, it causes a bucking through the drive chain.

Both My 2013 and 14 Do not have dead pedal, I bought one of those BD SB device and tested it in-depth , I found it to change the % vs load, and the mapping of the signal, this created extreme rail hang, heck I seen 26K after letting off (Pedal) for 3 to 5 seconds, 2013+ 6.7 already has some good rail hang Factory.

The under lying problem is fuel delivery at lower Rail Pressures , couple that with TQ management just compounds the problem.

The device may have some long term effects on injectors, its hard to say. I notice the latest updates with WITech allow adjustments to the APPS. I have not seen the need to change anything on My trucks, I did mess with 1 form WI last Wednesday he stated it much better.

Bucking something wrong, it should never do this W/WO dead pedal.

TC, you really should experience what we that have the problem are going thru before you make a general statement about all trucks. Not all of the 13's/14's are affected. Which makes this even more difficult to figure out. As I mentioned before, I drove two identical equipped trucks at the time I bought mine. I noticed then the delay in throttle response and pointed it out to the salesman...who of course did not have a clue. I chose my truck for the color, bed length and options thinking it would be an easy fix. Big mistake. I have at times experienced as much as a 5 second delay in acceleration, no matter how far you push your foot thru the floor on the go pedal. If this were happening to you, I have no doubt you would be very disappointed as we are. With your experience, you might be able to solve the problem but we have not been able to get the attention of Ram, and the dealerships, who have no solve for this. I hope BD has come up with something because it is downright dangerous to drive these trucks with this problem. Might as well throw money at it because Ram isn't doing anything.

Granted I only have 14k on my 2014 and have never noticed this problem with my truck, BUT I have a couple of observations: 1. the majority of the complaints have come from California truck owners. Is there something in your wonderful CARB rules which is causing this problem???? 2. Is some of it your driving style??? Jackrabbit starts, squeezing into small holes and optimistic passing because you are in a big hurry???

MJWenrich I have years of experience with TQ management in was in commercial trucks as far back middle 90s. 5 seconds ....No sensitivity booster will change that, something wrongs and needs to be discovered, typing will not solve it, complaining to Ram and waiting patiently may give results, but if you want the fix's its going take someone with years of knowledge and the resources to do it, dealers are just not equip for this type of research.

I hated the delay also, so I removed what I knew to be the source, the feed holes, it took out 1/2 of the delay away...if you watch what the BD SB does it overcomes this by increasing the Rail pressure fooling the Load % thus %APPS vs Load%. Bosch/Cummins installed the restrictors to stop the turbulences that's created in flow, More even distribution ,but it comes at a cost with restricted volume at low pressures. All kinds of factors ,FCA mapping %/Volts MM3s...I could go on and on.

MJWenrich send Me your rail I will mod it return it to you if it fix's 1/2 the problem you can pay for it, if not it yours.

TCDiesel:

Is this something that you are working on to possibly or sell to Ram owners?

Have you hammered the people at Bosch to come up with a solution?

Sounds you have done some serious homework and could possibly have a fix or partial fix.

Thanks
