But you said you used DI water instead of DEF.

Khaxton the DEF just does clean up, the EGR weather in Head or external takes care of 50-70% the catalyst does 10-20% NOx. IMO

"IMO"...This is your opinion, or is it a fact? Regardless of whether that is an unsupported opinion, or a fact....this:

So the entire DEF system has little to No effect on NOx production levels

....is still incorrect AND goes against what you just said about DEF reducing by 10-20%.

Where are you getting DI water for less than DEF? Unless your using distilled water I don't see how you can run it for less than DEF.

We purchase DI form 3 different suppliers...Its needed for products we manufacture ( including DEF)..... Many Members of this Forum have had the opportunity to visit our
facilities, they may chime in.

I have access to free DI water at work.....and I'm still not using it (as DEF anyway, I use it in the cooling system of all my vehicles however).

Interesting I was looking at the diagnostics for the code. It says "is the DEF between 28 and 47"? In class they always said it had to be exactly 32.5 or it would cause problems. It would appear it's OK with higher concentration but not lower.

At 20 degrees Celcius, urea will precipitate out (crystalize) from a 52% urea solution by weight. At higher temps the solibility goes up, but so does the likelyhood of water evaporation.

I would definately try to steer away from the 40% solution and keep it in the 30's especially if you see cold weather. However there is so small of a volume i would expect in the actual injector, the water could (hypothetically) evaporate in warm weather and a warm injector leaving crysrals behind, perhaps? Granted the system is sealed, so that water vapor would likely stay in the system, but might not immediately redissolve the cryatals.... Depending on where the water vapor condensed?

Thats probably a good idea. IMO I think your comments on using anything but DEF in these trucks should be left to yourself, has no place on the internet.

Yep.. and we all know your sources, THE INTERNET.

The world is ending tomorrow if you Don't use absolutely 32.5 % Urea 67.5% DI, provide some facts on the needed concentrate to reduce NOx to near zero levels. not some bias the world is ending tomorrow scum site, Lab or place.

WHO appointed 2014 the Mod King to make claims 12v98 comments have less value then his...Yep another self appointed Grand Poobah.

There are some no matter how helpful you have been to them they simply want to stir the pot!

I guess a DEF thread is simply no place to make a comment about alternative to DEF.

And yet you still continue to defend , it has no place on the internet, there is enough of you guys as there is . Thats how some get there sources reading stuff like you post, you prove your point , THE INTERNET

Defend alternatives.....and were did I demand anyone to follow comments I made/Make...

Defend alternatives.....and were did I demand anyone to follow comments I made/Make.... The problem is your putting more into typing than the thought and spirit of the comment.

I keep My DEF tank full, run lower concentration of Urea during summer months NOT because of the extra pennies saved, the 32% is just NOT necessary to Lower NOx to CAA levels.

Okay, then lets get back to the OP's problem. Does all this stuff you are saying going to help the OP's problem. Just curious.

I have had that issue a couple times, I do just the opposite , I keep the DEF on the low side. Whether its true or not, it seems to work not triggering a systems check. Have not had the warning since I have been running the DEF to the red mark, and then adding only 2.5 gallons.

Did I address the OP? It was a general statement. If it was of no interest to you why not simply not say anything.

Thought this was supposed to be a informative site???

Yes informative, what value did your post have. Lets put it this way, do you run distilled water, if some guy has run it with no ill effects, and if not why don't you .
