What % of fluid have you changed in your AS69RC.....
Working on that one. I have info I won’t divulge on here.
What % of fluid have you changed in your AS69RC.....
Your memory is short. We already went through this once several months ago....you said you didn't recall transengineer saying that, then gsbrockman found the actual thread where he stated this. You forgot again?
Retention of a moth......Post what he said since you are saying it’s so.
Working on that one. I have info I won’t divulge on here.
Thought we were here to learn and help each other???

That's precisely why I chime in every time you bring this up.....so someone who is just learning doesn't get the impression that your way is a must....and wastes time and fluid.
I said. "On the 68 it's VERY easy to do a "fluid exchange" to get all the fluid changed out instead of a half AZZ change."
YUP that sure would make someone think it's a "MUST". It may just peak someone's curiosity to see there is a way to "CHANGE THE FLUID".
But hey you just keep on saving people from my horrible ways, thanks.
Well if you drained out what I did on my 01 trans yesterday that was very dark in color
Fluid had 48k on it from previous owners last change.
Well if you drained out what I did on my 01 trans yesterday that was very dark in color you would certainly have gotten rid of ALL if you could. Fluid had 48k on it from previous owners last change.
You just want to be argumentative. I give a perfectly acceptable way to do an exchange and it's no good to YOU.
Just to make YOU "FEEL" better I did the exchange by my self this time. I dropped the pan, removed the filter and loosened the 9 valve body bolts. After a couple hours draining there was 10 quarts in the container.
Tightened valve body bolts to spec, adjusted inner band, installed the filter, installed the pan then added the 10 quarts of Signature series AMZ/OIL. Now the trans was FULL again.
Now I went to the front where the rubber lines attach to the trans cooler removed the hose from the filters outgoing side. Slipped on a 1/2" clear hose and placed it into empty container.
Started truck and when around 2qts had discharged I shut off truck. Measured the amount of fluid it was actually 3 quarts and added that much back, now "FULL" again. Started truck did the same and added another three quarts. The fluid coming out the hose was bright RED at that time. So 16 quarts and I have a 100% fresh fill trans with the OLD lube removed.
YEA I am an Idiot.
The method of running til it sputtered was NOT my Idea, I learned this from a TDR write up.
I did not let it sputter this time and was still an easy process so to make the nay sayers happy I will continue to do the "NO SPUTTER METHOD".![]()
If you would have serviced it at the manufacturers recommended interval rather than exceeding it by 60ish% your fluid would not be so spent![]()
"and what Ram suggests."
PLEASE show me literature from "RAM" that says to change ONLY the pan.
"It's called arrogance."
If you say so, I call it doing the job the right way.
PLEASE show ALL the TDR membership literature from RAM stating to disconnect transmission lines, procure two buckets, etc. etc. and perform the basic transmission service as YOU proclaim it should be.....PLEASE show me literature from "RAM" that says to change ONLY the pan.
Back in the day, the Ford C-6 had a convertor drain plug![]()

I will say it again........my 2014 RAM 3500 AS69RC was in great shape when I traded it in at 362k.....and I followed the servicing by the book, with the exception of going over a service or two by a few thousand miles occasionally.
Deleted original reply as you remind me of an arrogant buffoon....and cannot see the forest for the trees.STILL waiting on the RAM literature that shows ONLY dropping the pan.
"Manual states to "Change automatic transmission fluid (AS69RC transmission only) interval every 30k."
Then it mentions "filter or filters every 60k"
GS, Since you are the one to dispute everything I have to say when you give literature showing only pan change then I will waste my time digging up info on method. I have been doing this since 2001 when I bought my 98 12V.
Let's not forget YOU are the one recently saying over maintenance is a good thing.![]()
