Just to be clear, the soot burns into ash, and the ash stays in the DPF until it is full and must be replaced at approximately 180,000 miles. There are a bunch of people that claim they "washed" their DPF to remove the ash to avoid replacement.

You can't burn the ash out with 9000+ hrs on the DPF, but you sure can burn it out at small Volumes, We Have DPF on a class 7 Trucks with 14000+ Hrs on DPF. At times the DPF units are remove and chemical cleaned, You are welcome to wash it out LOL, just to be clear.

I just purchased a 2015 Ram Cab and Chasis with 5.0 u connect. The only speakers that work are in the front doors. The other speakers are there just not connected via computer. Can I turn them on with Alpha OBD. I would also like to add 2 back up cameras. Thanks

I've never heard that Ash can be burnt, that would solve a big waste problem.
Soot burns into Ash and thats it, a DPF on a class 8 has a ash-capacity way higher then on a Passenger Car as it is built from factory for miles and miles.

In Europe smaller companys offer that service to commercial customers, we had DPFs 10 years prior to the US.
It works and on a class 8 it saves 15'000$ for replacement.

LMBO, Another business I also have ownership manufacture the chemicals to Clean DPF internals.... Allow Ash to build up is the problem ASH is -incombustible. Ash properties very , Pure ash will build up need removing, the baking of Soot produces the ash, more soot removed the less the Ash, its the build up. My sig says it all...

I am getting ready to purchase AlfaOBD, one question though? Who is using on their smartphone vs laptop? Be nice if $50 included one phone and one PC subscription...
I just reset my TPMS threshold with Alfaobd on my Samsung phone. Coupled it with an OBDLink Mx+, and an AEV Security bypass harness and the Chrysler PIN Puller app. Worked great for a total of $170 but the OBDLink was $80 of it and I have used it on other vehicles to clear codes. Well worth it in my opinion.

What other AlfaOBD mods are you planning? Will the PIN puller app only work once, or will it work on multiple vehicles?

This is what comes up for the bypass harness, what is the second part for?

I have a few OBDII extenders, wonder if the main part is just switching a few pins?

The OBD2-MX thing I can get delivered tomorrow off Amazon, 25% was still good $63 with my tax, I will order the other just looks like your choices are limited on vendors. So roll of the dice if they will really ship it out. Will see.

That doesn’t look like a bypass cable. It should have a pair if those smaller cables attached to a OBDII port, not a OBDII extension cable.

The 2 small cables go directly to the bus, which is how you bypass the security module.

EDIT: Here is a photo of the one I got.

You need to be really careful when you use the Bypass Module on 2018-19...If the system powers up and the Bypass is not properly plug in or the SGM powers up. you will have a dead system, it will take some work arounds and a considerable amount of time to get the vehicle to Start and depending on options Like Nav/Radio/Camera it will take some time for these feature to come on line.

I am looking at doing other things like high beams with fog lamps. Not sure what else. The pin puller is a pay as you go app. You buy tokens and different features and can reload as necessary so you can use it on multiple vehicles.

That is the bypass harness. The thin wiring is what actually bypasses the security module. One end becomes the #1 and 9 terminal ends on the obd port in the truck. The other end plugs into the green strip to the left of the obd port. The large cable is an obd extender that only operates the required internal pins of the obd port, and an OBDLink plugs into it. You can leave the thin bypass wiring installed indefinitely so you can plug the OBDLink in and adjust things whenever you want later.

Ok, will take a look and make sure I get in the correct stuff.

Yeah that would suck to brick the thing in the driveway.

It's a Trademan just looking for the TPS stuff right now.

Now I’m corn-fused here. LOL

I just bought the security module bypass and haven’t installed it yet. It came with ZERO instructions. Not even available online. This discussion and pics aren’t doing this process any justice.

Is it pretty straightforward when you see it? I thought it might be.

Thanks for clarifying this up for me. ;)

It is pretty straight forward.

First, remove your OBD port by squeezing the tabs on the side. It pushes out backward.
Remove the pin retainers from the OBD port by pressing the retention clips with a very small screwdriver. Then the pin retainers will come out and the new pins can be installed in spot 1 and 9 (the bypass wiring is labeled as is the OBD port on the back side). Reinstall the OBD port.

Plug the other end of the bypass wire into any open space on the green strip to the left of the OBD mount.
That completes the instal for the bypass module. The next thing is the OBD extender. It seems to isolate the required pins for the OBD Link. Plug your OBD Link into the extension and then AlfaOBD will work.

Hope this helps.

My harness is completely different. It also has a secondary port for more devices to be plugged in. I assumed one goes to the existing port leaving one to be mounted in the original mounting spot and another is “floating” behind the knee bolster. The blue and green harness plugs are what I’m confused about. The have plugs, not pins for a connector.
