I got my adapter cable today and downloaded the APP to my Samsung Tab A. I set the DRL to the following, one step at a time letting the truck go to sleep between changes. The DRL's do not work and I tried the low beams and fog lights for the location. The attached configuration report show how I am currently set. Any ideas on what I might be missing?

I also attempted to change the TPM thresholds to 50 front and rear. It said it changed them, but when I lowered the pressure the light came on and the configuration report shows the threshold at 68 front and rear. Tried it again and it set them to 68 front and 71 rear, neither of which is even an option you can select.

Do you think the truck might have a high and low limit built in? I've used my Alpha on my Jeep Wrangler, but not my 17 5500 or my wifes 19 1500.

LRE Truck project and RV slight body damage from blowout along with 24 weeks recovery from surgery have kept me from playing with the Alpha the most. Likely will program fogs to stay on with high beams.

On your DRL, did you also turn them on in your screen. There isn't a DRL toggle on my 2017 5500, but there is on my wifes 2019 1500.

Cheers, Ron

I didn't reset the RFH yet so that may be it, but I was reading some posts on another forum and it said you didn't have to, you just would get a single ding on startup, but no red warning.
I tried to add the DRL in the radio a couple times but it still isn't there.

Definitely need to reset RFH. On mine, after reset - pressure thresholds showed correctly but still showed low tire warning until I drove a couple miles.

I've understood you have to, but haven't tried.

It took a day or so for mine to show up. Dads was within 10 minutes.

There are 2 CSM options that need to be selected for it to show up.

Do you know what two they are? I only noticed one, but I'll look again. Is one in the BCM and one in the radio?

I'll have to look at home, I just re-did dad's last Thursday and there were 3 things I had to change. 2 CSM's, and select which light.

Okay, found this online.

ECU 3: DRL Customer Setting Enable/Disable
Select “yes”
Customer Service Menus: Daytime Running Lights CSM
Select “yes”

Spent about three hours today and still having trouble. I ordered the MX+ OBD adapter tonight and will try again tomorrow. Hopefully that is it.

@sag2

This is everything my truck has set for DRL's with the 8.4 menu.

I have a cheap WiFi OBDII reader and it's working well for these options.

I can get the DRL's working fine, added and deleted them a couple times. Still can't get the menu to show up in the radio.

My new $80 adapter does not work any better than the $10 one I was first using.

How long are you waiting for the menu option to appear? Mine took most the day, Dad's '17 was quicker but he had DRL's for a while without the menu option.

Did the trailer name menu appear? That would show that you can enable stuff on the 8.4... but mine also took some time to show.

No clue on the RFH, as I haven't done anything with TPMS yet.

I got everything working now. I ended up waiting five minutes for every change. Way different than wiTECH where it takes by shutting off the key for one minute. Still can't get anything to show up in the radio, but that isn't a big deal. Thanks for all the input.
