Hello again folks, Now I'm working on the front bumper area.

Im trying to find the black torx truss head bolts which secure the lower black valance on the front bumper.

Im frustrated searching. As many of you may already know, these things rust up and a real pain to get loose.

I cant find a source. I really don't want to use Philip head screws since they are hard to loosen when they rust up. I believe they are metric 6mm. head diameter is about 19mm. 30mm long.
I suppose i don't need to replace them as metric since i will be replacing the clip nuts as well.

Any suggestions?
Before someone suggests LMC Truck parts, I already reached out to them to ask what their bolts sizes are.
They responded to me that they don't know...they said they are just a warehouse operation and have no way of finding out the screw size they sell....go figure.

I think bright screws with bright honking big washers will look like heck.

thanks BigPapa,
Auveco was the first place i looked...They are usually the "go to" place, but in this case, no cigar. :(

i think im going to need to settle on using Philips head style bolts...many more choices available.

thanks dodgenstien, like i mentioned, LMC wont disclose the dimensions or type of fastener.

i i found in the past, that lmc usually sends cheesy Philips head fasteners which heads snap of when tightening, or they strip out easy.

with these wide truss head (no shoulder) to grip pliers on to remove, they are a bugger to get out when rusted.

oh and by the way, local body shops just laughed at me...they stock next to nothing on hand except the most common trim plastic retainers for plastic trim.

this bolt is substantial, and does a specific job of holding up both the black valance and the grey plastic bumper trim cover, thru the steel bumper

We have an O'Reillys here that also supplies body shops. Along with paint products they also have a good selection of fasteners, I found ones for my '54 Ford restoration there.

checked oreilys, thanks. no go,
checked them advance, AutoZone and others. extensive online searching the fasteners companies as well.
best i found so far is allen style head, with only a 12mm head diameter...i need 19mm to fit/cover the valance slot correctly/

this is an odd fastener.

Had these fasteners off a few months ago to replace valance. The local dealer gave me the MOPAR part number 6508183AA, quoted over $8 per fastener. Dimensions M6 X 1.00 X 30.00. The Torx size T30.

Online one website lists the P/N https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-part...wJnk9MTk5NiZ0PWJhc2UmZT01LTlsLWw2LWRpZXNlbA==

i always knew i could go with hex head...lots of choices, but they look terrible.
not that i should care, but I've gone so far with the restoration, i hate to cheat now :)

I got everything except the chrome facebar from LMC for my 1999 RCSB gasser project. Quality as good as OEM and quite inexpensive. I have gotten good quality parts at competitive prices many times from them.

yes, small head diameter, but could maybe use a wide washer with it.

They had other torx head bolts with builtin flanges though not necessarily painted AND zinc plated...might be worth a deeper look....though it seems like you may have already found what you need.

ACE Hardware should have M6x1.00x30 hex head bolts that may work with a flat washer. I was able to salvage my old rusty oem ones.
This is what I did where I needed to replace a couple of them. I had installed a front hitch. Stainless bolts will cost about 2X as much and are worth it. Flange head bolts, if you can find them, are the best. Whether or not you use stainless steel bolts, paint the threads of the bolts with some Never-Sieze molybdenum or nickel paste before you reinstall them. That will keep them from rusting in place.

The west side of greater Phoenix has a bolt store with an immense selection called Mark's Nutz-N-Boltz. The only URL I could find for them is this really clunky Wordpress site: http://www.marksbolts.com/ They are also shown on Yahoo: https://local.yahoo.com/info-20073692-mark-s-bolts-nuts-surplus-glendale People can buy six bolts, or 60 pounds. And they have the 6mm stainless in hex and hex flange head.
