I wired mine using the factory add-on kit -- it's not that bad. The hardest part was routing the cables over the fuel tank and whatnot. Maybe a 2-hr job.

I just towed from WA up to the Rubicon trailhead in CA. On the really steep hills/roads, I shifted up to keep the revs up over 2k. This brought the temp down 10-15 degrees.

Whatever you replace with, try clearcoating them with some engine clearcoat, and occasionally squirt with some lightweight lubricating oil.
