    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Part Number For Seal where 47RE V/B gear selector comes out A/T case

Thanks. When I first called NAPA he said that he couldn't find it. I know from experience that it's better to have a part number to locate the right replacement. Thanks Again Mike

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Part Number For Seal where 47RE V/B gear selector comes out A/T case

Thanks for your assistance! Iknow that I will need to drop the V/B again. Are you saying that it is a standard o-ring that I can get at any auto parts store?

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Part Number For Seal where 47RE V/B gear selector comes out A/T case

Does anyone know the D/C part number for the seal for where the gear selector of the valve body comes out of the transmission case in the 47RE? (Near the transmission cooler lines) The FSM states that a 15/16 socket is used to install it. I am pretty sure that this is the culprit behind my AT...

    Running A/T Diesels on Dyno

T/C Locked So basically what you guys are saying is that the T/C needs to be locked. Should the truck just be put into Drive and run until it is in 4th w/ OD, then apply the load (terminology the dyno tech said that the truck down shifted everytime he applied a load). Then accellerate until it...

    Running A/T Diesels on Dyno

Yeah I live on the west side of Frederick Co. in Middletown. Nice guys at the speed shop but I think I wasted $75. I even asked before I went if they did diesels. Then during the test I told to make sure their monitoring my EGT guage when doin runups. He had no idea that 1300 F was too hot. Mike

    Running A/T Diesels on Dyno

I took my 98 quad to a local speed shop that had a dyno. After the test I was questioning the results. He said that my truck produced 169 HP and 592 Ft/Lbs Torque. Since I have a 180 engine and a TST #8 plate (230/605) I feel that the results were inaccurate. Especially the way the power graphs...

Out of fearing to look ignorant, what is a pipe plug?

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Egt To High

Piston . . . you sound like me when I didn't torque the valve body bolts (I thought I did), while installing shift kit. During the midnight test drive it came loose and I lost all transmission power at the bottom of the driveway . #@$%! Had to have AAA tow me back up the driveway. . . It's...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Egt To High

Thanks on the advice: Moving the plate: Where can I get more break off screws for the AFC housing? ATS manifold: IS this really necessary? My manifold doesn't appear to be cracking or brittle. Or is this an upgrade to do when I swap the 3" for a 4" exhaust? Turbo hoiusings and exhaust...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Egt To High

RE: EGT Too High (LONG) In have experienced the same thing - EGT's going out of control. Using TST #8, and Transgo Shift kit. EGT's easily exceed 1500 degrees only while towing in O/D. Great power but when O/D kicks in on even small grades the EGT's skyrocket. The only thing that I have noticed...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Gutting the Cat.

Thanks but there is a method to my madness. Here in Maryland it is inevitable that we will eventually have inspections on our diesels. It has been creeping up slowly. I need to desperately lower some EGT's and would like the unit to at least look stock. When Maryland does begin to inspect...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Gutting the Cat.

Does this require welding or anything else extravagant? What about 3" to 4" reducers? I have an aceteline torch and common shop tools. Don't want any surprises in the middle of the job. Mike

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Bent Push Rod? How To tell?

Thanks. I need to take a closer look at it. Any risk if I do not examine the push rod immediately?

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Bent Push Rod? How To tell?

Heard some noise reverb from the air intake (while it's off) and a diesel mechanic, who actually heard it after he adjusted my timing from 14. 5 to 15. 5 degrees, suggested that it sounded like a bad valve. I adjust the valve clearance last year with only 10-12,000 mile w/ some towing (10,000 #...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Where to buy a TPS & other parts?

A diesel mechanic looked at my TPS and advised that he could check the voltages but there really wasn't an adjustment for it. He told me I could buy the electronic sensor and the spring (which is a little loose). Is this consistant ?

Good Luck. Maybe they'll have better results. Mike

    shift kit

I have one and so far so good. I had the same question called Tech support they said to use the minimums for all changes for your vehicle (i. e. Springs, drill hole sizes etc. ) . I did all the recommended changes except the shift on demand change. (Used for competition models only) A...
