04.5 electrical problem at shutoff?

I just noticed that after shutting off the truck and removing the key, the radio remains on and the door ajar chime goes off (I opened the door while in Park) for approximately 5 seconds. I have never noticed this before... it's almost as if a relay is sluggish in changing states.



Has anyone else seen this problem?

First check your owners manual to be sure this isn't a "feature".

Then I'd suspect maybe a problem with the ignition switch. But I'm not sure how you'd check it, exactly.

Mine was diagnosed as a bad cluster module... and they ended up replacing a cable.

Steved, I assume you had similar symptoms. Any other things that were out of the normal operation that pointed them towards the cluster module?

Nope... same as yours... things just stayed on longer.



Took them 3 full days to diagnose, to the tune of $1000 labor.
