here's the question i know tst's plates are the best so please lets skip that part for now i tow almost everyday and gross on average 13k between the truck and trailer which is definetly not heavy at all but i need alittle more power and i've got good traces of a 10, 100 and 0 and a grinder i love the price since i'm a poor disabled vet the question is will the stock auto live for long with a 10 or 100 in the stock position? it won't see full throttle very often at all and i don't drive fast at all no more than 60mph... . the transmission feels ok shifts alittle harsh but ok otherwise and it recently had a fluid change it's got 132k on it

i'm kinda curious what the opinions are i ran a 94 auto with a 0 full forward for months with no issues at all and towed 10-12k with it and that one i drove like an idiot but i'm a little more leery of bombin this one for cheap quiet yet but i need the power losin 5mph goin over a hill that could pass for a speed bump is killin me

I'm leary of trans also , I bought truck at 209,000 , now 268,000 .
No history , so before I do much more for power 160HP stock , now 247HP , I want to up grade trans , but lack of work / money is an issue , so similar boat .
You mentioned harsh shift , I went to change ATF & filter , but while pan was off I adjusted trans bands , the kick to OD got a little softer , so easy driving till some up grades on trans .
If your stock you may have some room , but start now on researching trans up grades .
This is my choice .

duh

i appreciate it and you know i dunno why i didn't think to adjust the bands while i was changin the fuild i think i may go ahead and change the fuild again and make those adjustments while i'm in there

anybody else have any idea for some free transmission tweaks? think the mystery switch would help out any?

There's an adjustment for raising the pressure also , but this needs some more info that I do not have on hand , not much but a little more to help more HPs from not causing slipping .
If you do a search on mystery switch , you should get the wire at ECM to hook up .

now a pressure raising adjustment is something i'd like to know about for sure!

hell i think if it's a little warmer tomorrow i might go ahead and do the plate depending on how work goes a transmission and all the associated goodies might be in line for the end of the month
