Wiring help please!!!!

I take the redecorating was not with flowers and so forth lol, well maybe that will be the initial ding and all is good, no more dings.
That looks good sitting under the hood... got a phone call into a guy to check my turbo out, not sure if he can do it or something i maybe able to fix myself, getting the front of engine pressure washed and doing the underneath, transmission-transfercase etc... .
Was hoping to have new body panels on it by now before i came down, she looks rough LOL.

I got the overdrive situation squared away. I put a switch on the dash to bypass the computer for the overdrive and put the return spring back on the kickdown cable. Seems to shift better. I soldered the battery connections again as they were not as good as they should have been and were causing it to click instead of start. The temp guage was fixed today as well. It seems to have something feeding back into the charging system. The guages flicker and throb when the signal lights blink. Not sure what would cause this. We are making progress but still have some issues to work thru.

What motor mounts did you use ?

Im thinking about finding a newer burb and redoing my burb useing my strail axel etc with the kit they sale to ditch the independant crap or convert a 2wd rig

DVolk, I used the motor mounts from Tennesee Diesel Conversion. IMO there was less hassle involved with those because there was no drilling involved, they mated with factory 6. 5 frame mounts. If I had to do it all over again I would try to retro fit mounts from a dodge with a CTD. The rubber insulator looks like it would do a better job at keeping the vibration from transferring to the frame/steering. I am also considering doing a front axle conversion on my burb. That will be down the road a while. I like the the fact that your year model comes with a straight front axle. IMO that is a lot stronger than IFS.

I like my year of burb i just need a littel nicer body with rear barn doors .

Thats were i got my mounts did you have to cut the crossmember ?

What did he charge you ? Im useing Poly urthane mounts everywere except the body mounts , there is no viberation in my burb . My mistake is i wish i would have installed the engine then lifted to match oil pan clearence . All of his trucks i guess are lifted ,

you only need 2" if that , oh well it wont drag

The mounts were $325. I did not have to cut anything. My burb is currently 2wd. Where are you using polyurathane mounts? I may need to do that, Im getting some vibration thru the steering wheel. One good thing about your year burb is that they are priced reasonable.

Every mount I have engine and transmission has poly urthane includeing the springs of which have greaseible poly bushings

Do you got pics of the bare frame or mounts Scotts web site has not worked any time ive looked at it last few months Have you had any powersteering issues ? Mine seams to leak fluid or go away

I took a different route as far as wiring goes. Pulled all the dodge wiring harness back out as well as the dodge alternator. Fabricated a new mount that fits the GM alternator to the Cummins. Added a 0/1 ground cable from the engine to the frame, Charging issues solved. Had to replace a power steering line that sprung a leak. While I was waiting for the ps line to come in I pulled out all the interior up to the headliner and installed some sound deadening mat all over the floor. Hopefully this will take care of some interior noise. I plan to do the rear cargo area this week.

I took the Burb on its first road trip and was able to squeeze 21. 25mpg out of her. I was pleased with that considering its one of the heaviest vehicles on the road. Most of the trip was pretty steep grades. I didnt drive very conservatively on the way there because we were running late.

I have been reading this thread for awhile, and impatiantly waiting to see your results. You are doing a very nice job on this I am very Impressed. I am glad guys like you are paving the way for all of this by taking the time to post information as you go thanks.

So how far was the trip you took ?

It was just under 200mi. Not a long trip. I still need to get the converter for the speedo/odometer. I used my gps to figure the miles. I think my figure may be a little low on the mpg's as the fuel guage showed more fuel than when I started the trip. I plan to calculate it again to be sure. Next task is to replace and paint a door and the grill. I am anxious to replace the gov spring and turn up the pump a wee bit. Im trying to be patient and take things one step at a time. Thanks for the kind words.

21 mpg is very respectable for a suburban but I would not be suprised with longer trip and your odometer working if you find it to be better, though in a suburban I would be very happy with anything over 20.

I most certinaly feel your pain with waiting to start turning it up I know that I wouldnt be able to wait. Though I am glad you are taking it one step at a time so we all get to see the results. I will continue to read and enjoy your progress as you post it.

I did some fueling adjustments on the burb today. WOW!! It is a different animal all together. I plan to do the other two tomorrow. She really has the power compared to before. I didnt realize it would make that big of a difference.
KLauber, Thanks for the encouragement. Tell your son thank you and we are proud of him.

Yeah we are proud of him Going to church tomorrow so he can show off his dress blues, I will post a picture on a thread in the Other forum. PM me your contact info, I often go by Hickory plus we have a house in Lake Lure, would love to see that Burb!

Ah yes more power one of my favorite things it will be interesting to see what your mpg does with more power. Although I know I would have a hard time keeping my foot out of it to see any increase in mileage at first, but that's the fun of it right.

NRasor, yes part of my problem is keeping my right foot out of it. I just noticed in your sig. I think we have similar trucks. How do you like your injectors?

I like them good power increase with acceptable smoke I would really like more turbo as my egts tend to get a little out of hand if I am not careful the injectors seemed to slow the egt rise a bit but my fueling curve tends to make it hard for my turbo to keep up. They have great throttle response and it seemed to start

better after I put them in as well.
