Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 1993 ish 12v into a 2001 truck with a 24v.

It should slide out of there,in a extreme case you might have to slide it back , big ply bar, although you might think about pulling the starter and the cluch slave secure it off to the side

I have gotten all of that off and now my problem is the oil pan will not clear before the valve cover hits. So im guessing i need to take the oil pan off ?

That truck can never be registered in an area with emissions inspection. Not saying that's a bad thing, it just is a fact.

You could unbolt & lift the cab.

Thats something i didnt think about and a great point! Im in texas and at this time diesels do not have to pass emissions.

your going to have to pick up so the front first if you have to and have a jack or some cribing you might have to slide the transmission back just a touch

On the DEQ with the old block , since you shuld re use the 2000 intake etc... For the intercooler , id pull the the id tags and any good parts like head etc pump timing cover , but to the un trained eye you could get new rivits and put the id tag on the 93 my guess no one would know what it was

Some good tips in here, I'm doing the same thing tommy 94 12v and would like to put it into a 2002 v10, so far I was told that I should swap the hole dash as well. Can anyone elaborate on why I need to do so? I would like to keep the 02 dash caues it grey and my 94 is red

I see no reason to swap the dash , only thing your gaining is a headache and maybe a fuel guage that say diesel , Dodge did not reinvent the wheel every time they done something if the engine plug is the same you can just plug and play and my guess even the ecm , but in a pinch and this is what im going to do on my 98 im just going to find the hot on and off by the switch and one that dont fade when in the run position and as far as the grid heaters they can be set up on a push button same goes for the fuel heater they can be wired in as well Auto World in Montana put a 4 bt in a v 10 truck so i might even call them for information

Because in 2002 most of the switches and components are switched ground. In 1994 they were all switched positive. The wire harnesses do not match, PCMs will not match, in fact very little will match. You will find that by parking both vehicles side by side and comparing various items. Essentially what you will be doing is swapping cabs (just the sheet metal), not engines.

You dont have to switch the cabs or dashes . Just switch out
The sending units from the original engine if they are not the same its that simple . This is what the conversion shops do call and talk to a few such as Ford Cummins or AutoWorld MT or look at there web sites a mechanical engine dont need all of that and the chargingsystem dont care

A '97 V10 truck is a lot different than a '02 truck. You might cobble yours together so it runs, but whatever you accomplish will be easier than what Mitri is looking to do.

Why is this post sounding like people are truck trolling to pick up a guys truck by discourage working on them ?
There is one person that knows Dodge from the inside and that is Mystery Man or as mentioned call a conversion shop ,its been done numerous times and Ddge does not use nor have they used positive grounds

You need to brush up on DC electric. Switched grounds does not mean positive ground.

You can still run the alternator from the oem engine and there is no difference on the alterntors at all ,if you did not which came of which you can not tell the difference at all
