Since I'll be in possession of my 1st Gen in a few days, can someone tell me what the factory HP is for a 93? It is CTD version.

Second part of the question; What are some of the modifications the group would recommend to improve HP and still have reliability? I know some of this was covered in a previous post, but want more specifics.

Thanks

160hp 400ftlb torque. Fuel + Air = Power. Modified hx35 or hx40, injectors such as POD's can supply the fuel and air. With this and some pump mods can get you to 300hp 750ftlb level and still have reliability.

I think smoke is the biggest thing. Some guys on here are running some pretty serious horse power without many problems in the reliability department. Most of the turned up trucks smoke quite a bit to make this power. (some seem to have more than others) ;) But with some simple pump mods and maybe a turbo housing you can have a fun to drive truck that is very reliable and easy on the wallet. Warning, once you turn the first screw it's extermely hard to stop. :D Good luck with the new truck.

A diesel mechanic pointed out to me that there are two kinds of people

who adjust a diesel injection pump... . Fools and the Factory... ... ... ... ... .

I am just glad to be in good company here. :-laf

I don't know by looking at the number of trucks I see that smoke more than mine... there are alot of fools out there... ... Many buying shortblocks for Powerstrokes, and Duramax's.....
