I am a long ways out from a new truck, but if they were available I would buy one without hesitation... then have the dealership install 4.10's in my 3500 Air Susp SRW MCLB Aisin.

I wonder just how many people would actually buy a factory long bed mega cab? It's obvious there's a desire for it since I believe there's still a few businesses specializing in the conversion.

I'm about to order my new truck. Was test driving today. I've even thought about stretching a mega cab myself. I am a trained weldor after-all... but fear the cost of buying the bed.

I don't know what it was previously, but it looks like the MC can be had with 14k GVW, just as the CC can. Correct me if I'm wrong because their website is a bit of a PITA to verify some of these things.

That's what my plan is. I have my MC short bed on order now and even have "buy in" from the wife that I'm almost immediately stretching it. Initially I was trying to coordinate a plan to do the work myself (minus the painting), but I gave up looking for a source for take-off long beds and buying a new one from the dealer would likely cause me irreversible heart problems so I'm not even gonna bother checking on the price.

I would buy one for my next truck. My current truck is my first truck, and I have found: (1) should have gotten the long bed, and (2) should have gotten the mega-cab. I hope it is offered when I am ready.

I'm actually leaving at 6am in the morning to drive to Utah to have my long bed conversion done. I told the guy he needs to send me pics along the way that I can post (I'm just dropping it off then flying to Atlanta on business for the week). They'll be starting the actual conversion on Monday.
