Ok, I've spent a while searching and couldn't find what I am looking for specifically.

I just took my 2002 2500 QC SB 2WD CTD/Auto truck in for alignment. As the story always goes, when I came back to the shop he said he couldn't align it because of excessive play in the lower balljoints. The truck was purchased used about 3,000 miles ago and it currently has 70,000 on the clock.

The tech said that no one makes aftermarket balljoints for the 2WD and I would be stuck buying Mopar.

So, can someone educate me a bit? Are there really no aftermarket balljoints for the 2WD? Also, I saw a lot of "bombing roadmaps" for the steering on 4x4 trucks, but has anyone been through this on a 2WD? If I'm replacing the lowers, should I replace the uppers? Should I replace the steering box and add a Borgenson (do the Borgensons even fit 2WD)?

With a factory service manual and some trusted friends I'd like to try and do all of this work myself (save $$$). While we're in there I'd like to try and take care of as much as possible... suggestions?

Again, I REALLY APPRECIATE the feedback from this site. I'm still very much in the learning phase and look forward to "giving back" once I have a bit more experience.

As barepa says go to rockauto.com, TDR members get a 5% discount if I remember correctly.

Try to get the Moog components if you you intend keeping the truck a while. The cheaper ones are ok, but you will be replacing them more often ... do it once ... do it right

Have fun getting the old ones out ... have to do mine here soon as well :{
