2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 3rd Gen Seat in a 2nd Gen CTD?

I was wondering if anyone has info on putting a 3rd Gen seat with center underseat storage in a 2nd Gen CTD. I have a 02 Reg Cab and would absolutely love to have 3 Gen leather seats with the center storage installed. Also, I was wondering if front seats were front seats, meaning, is there any difference between quad cab/ext and reg cab front seats. Thanks in advance for the input.

While I dont know if they will fit properly another thing to think about is I dont think the 3rd gen seats have the integrated seat belts (perhaps it is later though) so that may be an issue that has to be dealt with in the swap. My 01 has the integrated belts and it defintiely hampers the options as far as straight swaps. Another thing you might check out is the center console section in the 2nd gen is its own piece ie can be seperated from the rest of the seat. Maybe swap in a 3rd gen console to get the storage you are looking for and then a reupholstery job on the seats with leather.



I can remember years ago there was a member who used to make replacement consoles. storage, cooler with drain etc. It was pretty nice looking. Havent seen one in many years though.

My '03 seats are no-where near as comfortable as the stock '97s were. I wish I'd never replaced them.
