Steering wander

Well everyone I am not the resident expert on steering but what I have done that cured my truck and each thing helped dramatically.

1. ) darins steering stabilizer brace

2. ) solidsteel adjsutable track bar (side to side adjustment of the axle)

3. ) Nitto terra grappler 285's

4. ) d25 springs( level the front end) w/ new bilstein 5100's

5. ) Tuff country track arms (longer than stock so the axle is center in wheel well and the tires dont rub)

6. ) new steering dampner(moog)

The level of the front end was the final straw that completed it all. It drives straight as an arrow and rides like a caddy. I believe the front end leveling was one of the single most contributing factors, it shifts the weight more mid truck rather than all front.

Hope this helps

Dave

dieselshu, i saw that leveling your truck helped to correct steering wander. I have a DSS, Lukes Link, Maxx Links which helped a lot, and soon to have new control arms with poly bushings and the rock solid ram truck bushing in the steering shaft which I have just havent got in yet. I was thinking about leveling mine; however, I was worried about how the truck will pull heavy loads. I think they look cool leveled, but concerned that it will look like an overloaded half ton when I hook up to my cattle trailer or other heavy load.

1998 4x2 2500 Quad Cab, yes wanders all over the place at 189,000 miles on odo. How do we get our hands on the TSB for this?

'97 3500. Always wandered. At 120,000 Replaced ball joints and one tie rod end. Took it to Dodge garage for alignment. No adjustment needed. Service manage said they all wander.

Steering

99 2500 short bed, replaced with Lukes Link, helps a bunch. Ball joint plastic was giving 3/8" of play, 140,000 miles.
