Adding TPMS

I have a 2010 3500 SRW that didnt come with TPMS. . I would like to add it, if possible.

I see sensors for sale on ebay, 30$ each. .

Is there a TPMS sensor module/receiver as well, or is it standard?

Would like to keep it OEM, but if not I`ll get an aftermarket system

edit... did some research on a parts site... they say the sensor is a 56029398AA, and the module is either a 68069567AA, or possibly a 56029383AC

can anyone shed some light? thanks

I hate mine you can have it for free if you can figure on how to remove the TPMS from the truck. I have a 2500, 08 Mega Cab.

The TPMS is only correct during the summer months when I tow. The TPMS wants the rear tires at 70 PSI, any lower than that the idiot light comes on and dings twice on start up. I have tried repeatedly to reset the light load button and the dealer did look at it the first time I had this issue, never resolved.

I thank the FORD owners and Firestone every time when the light comes on and the truck dings in the winter, when the rears are run at 45PSI each.

Can't anyone read a tire pressure air gage any more?

Not sure about your 08, but I have to set the tires to the low pressure setting first, then turn key on and push the light load button. Takes a few seconds, but it has always worked for me. Maybe adjust the pressure to the exact pressures on the label and set the light load, then adjust a few pounds as you want. There's a good 5psi range where my psi will vary but not set the alarm once it's in light load mode.

I work for our city and most of the crown vic fleet has them and they are a real head ache to deal with. What might be your reason for wanting this??

I went after market with a Doran system (had one on my 98 2500). Easy and quick to set up. No problems. Would buy it again.

I run my tires at 75-78psi 365 days a year due to the weight I carry. . (i`m 9500+lbs GVW all the time)

Wife's 07 jeep has TPMS and it saved my butt on a recent road trip when I got a nail in the tire. Was driving on the highway at 80mph, and the jeep dings that right rear is 25psi. . Pulled over, found the nail, patched and refilled tire on the spot. . Was going again in about 15mins. . If not for the TPMS, could have had a much worse outcome. .

I know its a PITA for some, but it could definitely save some heartburn

guess i`ll have to call the dealer, but who knows what kind of answer im going to get

If you want an after market system look at TST. I tried a couple of different units before I settled on the TST system and have been very happy with it. And to answer an earlier post, yes I can use a tire pressure gauge, but when a tire starts to deflate on the road, it is nice to have a warning BEFORE it is completely flat and tearing up your truck.
