With this manometer that we have as long as you are not on it hard you can start to see pressure on top of the filter as slow as 30 mph. I ugh any one that has question's like yours to get one of these manometer they work so well if at truck passes you you can watch what it does in pressure fluctuations.

I can under stand your skepticism I am the same way. My motto is don,t tell me show me. We have taken air measurement in the hood in the neck of my air box, in the stock box and on top of the filter. The top of the filter between the turbo is the only one that really counts. But by taken it in the hood has made me do a small design change to the 2 gen. and a very big change to the 3 gen hood that is under development.

When I design my hoods the first thing of importance is function looks are second. If a person wants only looks I can understand that but my hood are not a single purpose hood. If you get a cowl hood I would enjoy testing it with you. Thank you for your comments

Not to be a wise-arse, but how can any maker properly and intelligently "design for function" if they are only relying upon the vague and unqualified feedback from customers as the basis for results?



One of my biggest gripes concerning many makers and sellers of aftermarket "performance" products, is wild and unsubstantiated claims as to power benefits - usually without a SHRED of actual test results.



For my $$$, an actual, independent and fully documented test run is FAR more significant than "billy-Bob's" seat-of-pants vague estimate... :-laf

Don't hold your breath on any 3rd party tests on much of anything for any product. The closest thing that i've seen recently is the test of hte afe,ats,and that other carbon fiber intake horn. And even then who knows. The dyno runs looked funky to me

YUP Jason, I agree - and the guy/outfit I quoted above seems to do pretty much the sams as many others do - put out the product with absolutely NO testing of their own - then rely upon and/or quote the vague SOP "impressions" of customers as their basis of power improvement claims.



The various "Cool air", and "Ram air" setups are all pretty uniform in their CLAIMS of increased power - and ALSO uniform in their LACK of independent documented proof to back those claims... :-laf



And yeah - they are all ALSO pretty predictably uniform in their vocal indignation, when their advertising claims are challenged or questioned!

I've had my truck for almost 10yrs and the hood for over 9 and it's my 'impression' that it's much better than stock or the early Scotty set up that I had for four months prior to the hood (I didn't like the Scotty... too noisey, poor design and limited benefit IMO). Never tried any other aftermarket air intake products. Even if I was presented with scientific data that showed me otherwise I would still like it as much as other truck owners like there H2 tire/wheel combos that don't really add anything to performance for alot more money. Does any 3rd party product marketer have the resources to provide the detailed data that would satisfy the most critical of people on this board? I doubt it. You buy on your individual assessment and are happy with that or you voice your displeasure and sell it for something else. I think this issue has been beat to death here. All I know is it works for me.
