Just curious. I love the Mega cab but I pull a Living Quarters horse trailer. I want to upgrade to the 3500 Single Rear wheel. In the pamphlet it shows a Mega pulling a horse trailer. Is anyone doing it? What about Clearance? Thanks for the help!

I saw a Mega Dually this weekend pulling what must have been a 30'+ gooseneck horse trailer. It didn't seem to have any issues pulling into the gas station and turning around. I was actually surprised the trailer didn't contact the cab.

my buddy has a mega cab, he pulls a 48' gooseneck flatbed, and a 38' enclosed trailer. no different from my quad cab short bed. Gotta watch it with trailers with a wide front end, they'll hit the cab. A tapered front end doesn't hit at all. (I've pulled both)

Your Mega Cab has the same bed as My Quad S/B. I pull a 40' Featherlite Gooseneck Race trailer, which has a 6' tapered nose just like the horse trailer in the 2007 brochure. The tapered nose combined with a B&W Turn-over hitch with the 4" extenda-ball allows us to pull trouble free and turn sharp. . pics in my gallery

I pull a 32' GN with my MegaCab. I have the PopUp GN hitch, 4" extenda-ball and a tapered nose. I can turn just as sharp as anyone out there with an 8' bed - NO problems. If you have a wide nose there are other equipment options available that will solve the wide front issues.

Thanks!! My horse trailer is 7' wide, but a little tapered at the nose, not much. I am guessing it is 6' wide at the nose. I love my 04 but can get a great deal in the Mega, just want to find/order one that has a STICK. . manual trans is so hard to come by, only 2 in calif I guess...

Hey Rope don't let the auto equipped Mega's be a deal breaker!

If you can't find a six speed, consider getting an auto.

I swore I would never have another auto in a pulling truck, well if you look at my sig you will see what I'm driving now.

The 06 tows great with an E-Brake and I know your horses will be alot happier when being transported with an auto rather than the six speed.

I have a stick and love it, that said, lots of fellows are singing praises about the auto trannys in the 06's. Check with Carson Dodge, they may still have some 6-speeds AND give you the deal you are now looking at with the auto. Get it in writing, excellent negotiation tool. Also, if you do go to the auto because there are NO sticks around, try to get a jake out of them for the switch to the auto. Might work out for you.
