What is the max combined wieght you have towed on the highway. please state overall results

I pull a 9,000# utility trailer with a 2,500# slide-in on a regular basis. The total combined weight is a little over 18,000#. Standing starts and highway speeds on level ground are no problem whatsoever. Heavy, slow traffic is murder on the transmission with temps climbing over 200. A couple miles of hilly dirt roads recently sent the trans temp to 250. On the interstate, I can maintain the speed limit on grades up to 6%. More than a 6% grade requires a downshift and a max of about 55 mph. Once on a 6% grade, any attempt to increase speed will result in instant EGT overload.

All in all, it handles the load very well. And the truck is for sale... .....

I have a 97 auto with 4:10 rear and regularly tow a 15,000lb trailer. I also had the transmission rebuilt at 35,800 miles by BD. D/C paid the bill. We'll se how well it holds up now.

I tow an 11,ooo lb fifth wheel and a 2000 lb enclosed motorcycle trailer. Had trany rebuilt at 80,000 miles clutch packs shot. Shift kit (tst) hopefully fixed that. TC fryed twice as more horsepower was added. Using overdrive my latest hp increase is frying my TC as the lock up slips around 1400-1800 rpm cannot use all the power when towing because of this. Ordered Bill Kondalays TC which should cure this and get rid of the max rpm slushy acceleration up to 4th gear lockup.
