battery for winch

what type of battery would be better for a winch mounted on my trailer, a marine or a standard?

Deep-cycle batteries have more reserve, and would be more suited to that type of use.

What you need is a marine trolling motor battery. They are designed to run an electric motor for extended periods.

ok, thanks guys, i thought so but was not sure with the high amp draw if a starting battery would be better.

Marine is ok jest get a good heavy one with a lot of cold cranking amps----Good luck
