Just living within the cards we're dealt. Can't afford the fines or to replace truck if non-complaint! Plenty of miles driven on these trucks as they were built from the factory! Just providing 2 sides to compare. To take offense to the advise given, well that's on you. Unless regulations change, that's what we have to deal with. I said your choice to make you aware that your truck is non road complaint and could be impounded. There is plenty of knowledge on here. These trucks aren't like the used to be in days gone by. Good luck with the truck.

Well gentlemen I appreciate.... wait no I dont!! For some of yall yes thanks. But the others!!! What are yall environmental extremist lib's. More concern of the atmosphere than to actually help. And the ones concern about helping my truck is now work a hell of alot better and efficient without the VGT.(I didnt hear you). Also we can agree to disagree about all horrible crap they have put in our trucks. All it does is recirculate and clog up everything ruining an awesome engine but for what all for the EPA!!! GIVE ME A BREAK. Again thanks and no thanks but im out of here. Way to much Lib replies for me.

The guy that puts that turbo on your engine can be fined by the EPA to the tune of 10K or something like that. You also can be fined. I am just pointing out the reality of messing with any part of the emission system on a newer vehicle. Your money, spend it anyway you want, however you have no legal right to mess with the air the rest of us breathe.

. What about a fart?

I can’t remember how I went down the slippery slope back in 1999 but it happened. The 5.9 was not really very strong but had huge potential. Injectors etc. the transmission were a very weak also. The Cummins had to much torque. I shifted pickups all my life in work trucks and was tired of it. Plus when you let off the throttle it was like being in neutral going down a hill .. New transmission for lock up then exhaust brake. .we were ahead of our time. Then there was the lift pump. Carters are pusher pumps and to mount them on the side of a hot shaker Cummins was not a good thing and make them pull fuel was a mistake . At some point the warranty which I have never used warranty I think in my life was done. So we kept going. The 5.9 was a modders delight. But times have changed the world has changed at almost 73 I’m trying to get used to that. It’d hard. But somethings. are better . The power train on my new truck is just awesome. All the electronics and air pollution things are not but if you want a new truck you have to live with it. And they cost a lot to operate . Just glad to be alive and have a new one. Awesome

It seems like the late 70s early 80s all over again, smog pumps, plugged catalytic converters, epa, blah blah blah. These things go full circle the heats on right now but won’t be forever, they will find the next group to break balls and diesel performance will be on like donkey Kong again. We common sense folks know the ICE isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, all those “we won’t allow gas engine sales past 2025 etc” either they will roll back that plan or their state is going to fail.
