Its time for bigger turbo & injectors on '06

This thread has been hijacked by an Amsoil rep. I'd like to see more on the original Powercore idea. Not that the other design isn't interesting It deserves it's own thread. It took the steam out of the original idea here.

BRAVO!! BRAVISSIMO!!

That's looks like a winner for sure.

I'm no Amsoil kool-aid drinker (;) ) but BRAVO TO AMSOIL!

It speaks well of Amsoil that they are forward-thinking enough to realize the superiority of the Donaldson nanofiber media.

The question is:

Will this fit inside a Scotty intake ??

PAGING SCOTTY-- SCOTTY YOU HAVE A CALL ON LINE 2!!

:D

Hey Hoot... . I think things are on the right track. At least SOMEONE has done something with it. Hohn was happy with the result. Others are asking questions about it, and they are being answered. He has put a good ammount of time and effort into finding what these guys are looking for. Luckily for all of us, he lives just a few miles from Amsoil headquarters.

Yeah Hoot, no hijacking or offense intended. I was intensely following Hohn's work and had hoped it would come up with something, and if he still does he is welcome back to hammer on this thread some more. Yes, I, along with a ton of others on here, am an AMSOIL dealer. The point of this was never to sell filters or profit me. I proved this in my first post on page 13 when I posted the exact AMSOIL part numbers, effectively allowing everyone to go get this filter from any AMSOIL dealer in the nation. I never once tried to monoploize this filter or thread. The reality is that I live in Superior, WI where AMSOIL Corporate Headquarters is. I am an active AMSOIL dealer and a paying TDR member. I just happened to be talking with some of the R&D guys at AMSOIL and heard that they were bringing out new Nanofiber filters, and I instantly thought of Hohn's thread here. I bought a filter with my own $ and brought it home to take pictures and posted my findings on here, WITH PART NUMBERS for everyone to see. I am just trying to help, and judging by Hohn's approval, I am not out of line here.

Cool... send me one of those filters and I'll evaluate it :)

Sure, just as soon as you send me your credit card info so I can evaluate that. ;)

OR we can talk a trade for some nasty air horns. :D

I personally don't think this thread has been "hijacked" in the least - or that DD has self-serving sinister ulterior motives. As with the vast MAJORITY of long running threads, after the initial rush of direct, on-subject posts, the discussion widens and meanders into peripheral but related issues that usually parallel and contribute to the original thread purpose - just as THIS one has. ;)

Again, I personally THANK DD for providing additional followup info on the basic subject of improved air filtration for our trucks - and I really won't feel offended if perhaps a few related orders DO happen to come your way because of your participation here... ;) :D

He got an order from me because he was so helpful with all the stuff I've ever asked for from him.

I don't mean it in a "mean" way.

After page 6 PowerCore info dissapeared from this thread... I'm more interested in the PowerCore type filter. I hope Amsoil comes up with a filter that uses it. Than we'll be inundated with info about it :-laf

Well here's a thought. Instead of complaining about the work that someone else has done. Why don't you go find your PowerCore filter, do the measurements, etc and inform us about it.

Duluth Diesel took the inititave to find a product that was available to him. As I recall back around page... . 1... Hohn was looking for a Non Oiled filter that filtered well. The PowerCore was an example. So run right down to your local PowerCore distribution center with your measuring tape. :-laf

I'll be interested to see what YOU find.

I do my share of contributing... I have more stuff that I haven't had the time to document. Once in a while we like letting others do some of the work and prodding them along.

I appreciate ALL of the info in this thread. It just got swamped with Amsoil.

This thread, has been "swamped" by AMSOIL since page 1.

AMSOIL makes the PowerCore filter, using Donaldson Endurance Nanofiber media. IT IS AN AMSOIL PRODUCT. This PowerCore thing has been an AMSOIL product since Hohn started this! Get the facts, man.

AMSOIL PowerCore: https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/pcf.aspx

Made for the Power Stroke 7. 3 and 6. 0, and the Hummer H2 6. 0 gasser. That's it.

Taken from the AMSOIL website:

P603577 - PowerCore® Air Filter for Ford 6. 0L Diesel Powerstroke™ Application

PCFH2 - PowerCore® Air Filter for H2 Hummer 6. 0L Vortec™ Application

PCF73 - PowerCore® 7. 3L PowerStroke Filter Replacement Cartridge

The other applications are separate primary and secondary filters that we determined won't work in our trucks.

See Hoot, this WHOLE THREAD has been about how AMSOIL makes this PowerCore filter using Donaldson Endurance Nanofiber media but doesn't make one for our Dodges. In reality, they don't flow well enough for diesels, and especially modified diesels. Hohn's original idea was to take that AMSOIL product and get one, either from AMSOIL or Donaldson, to work on our trucks. Hohn was awesomely chasing leads at Donaldson Corporate, and had some luck. We were all excited about it. It was a great idea he had. Take the original AMSOIL idea/product, and go to the source and get a big one! Well, it didn't pan out, and when AMSOIL expanded their Nanofiber product line to include performance cone filters, that finally flow well, I jumped on it! This has always been about getting better air flow in a reusable, non-oiled Nanofiber filter. The roots of the product idea have always been based from the AMSOIL PowerCore product. We're just trying to investigate all avenues, answer all questions, and get us what we want: A good Nanofiber filter. All I'm doing is trying to make that happen for us. Once again, I always post links and part numbers, allowing ANYONE to go ANYWHERE for these products and to do their own reading. Quit complaining about what is, in reality, one of the more sucessful threads on TDR.

I would like to go back to talking about air filters now, since NOW this thread has effectively gone from filtration of air to filtration of #%@!

:)

Thank you.

I never said you don't contribute. But if YOU want that information, then by all means find it. I'd say that the information here is great information. The filter is made by Donaldson and sold by Amsoil. What if someone just said Donaldson. Would it then be over run by Donaldson?

Actually, the filter MEDIA is made by Donaldson, but the actual assembly, whether it be the PowerCore, the Cones, or the Drop-ins, are made by AMSOIL. This is why this PowerCore idea has always been based on an AMSOIL product, which is why this thread is "swamped" with the word AMSOIL.

:D

BTW, there is a nice little 1 page article on page 129 or something like that in the newest TDR issue featuring the eaa189 AMSOIL Nanofiber Drop-in filter for the 3rd gen trucks. I thought it was a good read. ;)

Donaldson invented and makes the Powercore media and filters for the OEM's.

NOT AMSOIL

Amsoil came in later selling Donaldson sourced products.

Go pound sand :D :-{} ;)

I'm not talking about this particular line that's being sold in this thread that Amsoil makes from Donaldson Nanofiber media. I'm talking about PowerCore filter media and the filter housings that are made from PowerCore media. Does Amsoil make an application that might work on my 04 that uses PowerCore media as opposed to Nanofiber media?

This thread originally started with Hohn and Donaldson exclusively, did it not?

Was this (Hohns first example) filter made by Amsoil?

Am I back on track?

Look Hoot, do whatever you want. Let's just keep this thread going for those of us who are interested in better filtration. If you want to stick around and make noise, well it is a free country. I'm going to take the high road and just try to answer questions in the best way I can. If you want to do some Donaldson PowerCore research and post your findings here, by all means have at it! Stop complaining about the direction a thread is taking when your only participation is negative. I see you have looked into other things. Contribute to this thread in a positive manner, and if that takes the discussion away from AMSOIL products, then so be it! I really don't care! But let's move forward rather than sit here clucking like chickens.

I'm done with this. This has gotten stupid.

Anyone want to talk filters?

Yeah, I do.

Wow, I don't check this for a few days and two pages get added! Seriously though, like the thread was titled, this is about "Building a better BHAF". Whatever brand it is, if it filters better and flows better, that's what it's all about.

I think the Nanofiber 4510 has potential. Obviously, my stock truck isn't exactly the most useful candidate for testing the flow abilities of this filter, but . . .

Chuck, I will send you a PM.
