Thanks to WYOSteve I've got my very own Denver Off Road Aluminum front bumper. I'm trying to find out what everyone has done with the wheel well liners in the front where the bumper meets the liner. Right now I don't have the most streamlined look and wondered what everyone else has done. I have thought about trimming some away. Please post pictures if possible.

Anyone running fender flares on the front?

Also, let's talk lights. Please point me in a good direction for an off road set and a fog set. Thanks!

Jason

i just drew a straight line with chalk from the bottom inside (close to frame) to where the bumper meets the liner and then cut it with a pair of tin snips. looks like it was supposed to be that way!! as far as lights go... i like the PIAAs. i have the series 520's and they are great especially in incliment weather. they have some new and better lights out too, but they are $$$$

It was late when I trimmed mine, and I opted to just grab the sawzall and whack away. Looks rough, but you can't see it from the back of a galloping horse.

Jason:

I never have gotten around to trimming my liners and have had no problems with them coming loose but will trim them one of these days or years.

As far as lights I am using Light Force 170's ( http://www.lightforceusa.com/ )mounted on the DOR tabs they are great. Too much for on road use though but out in the weeds or when no one else is around they are awesome. You can change the lenses to different colors as well as focus from tight pencil to broader flood by turning the housing. Like a maglite flashlight. I was thinking of adding the smaller 140's for fogs but they may still be to bright for on road use.

I have mounted the stock fog lights on the dor as well and they have held up very well. Just used some 2 inch angle aluminum cut 2 6" pieces screwed them onto the top inside of the bottom of the bumper approximately where they were on the stock bumper and then mounted the stock fog lights and brackets to them. And since they use the stock mounts they are still adjustable.

About 2 months ago I went to home depot and picked up a sheet of diamond plate aluminum and bent it to the contour of the dor mounts and cut out some tabs on each side for it and screwed it into the mounts. It closes the gap between the bumper and the radiator. I was noticing that the bottom of my radiator fins were getting a little beat up this protects them from road debris as well as gives it a little cleaner look. I also drilled a couple dozen 1/2" holes in it for airflow and then painted it black and turned out pretty good.

Sorry no pictures

As to lights, I have a set of Hella fogs that work nicely. Certainly better than the weak ones Dodge offers as an option. For an off-road set, I went with 250w landing lights in el-cheapo JC Whitney housings. Some folks have used the 100w landing lights, as well. Be sure you run large enough wire and relays -- each 250w bulb draws 20 amps and throws 450,000 cp. If you can't see the deer with these on, you need to put a white cane on the bumper instead.

I'm with BarryG, I never got around to trimming the liners and they haven't given me any grief yet. I pushed them behind the lip of the bumper and they've ridden quietly for many interstate miles.

I like the Hella line of lamps. I have the FF1000 for the tabs and the Micro DE fogs for just outside the grill guard on top. Neither pair has been mounted due to an unusually busy summer-time this year. I had convinced myself that a pair of Hella Rally 4000s would fit on the tabs; they don't.

I don't have a DOR but I needed to trim mine for my Buckstop bumper. What I did was use duct tape to give me a straight line for what I wanted to remove. Then I used a soldering iron with a flat blade that's made for slicing through plastic. It came with my soldering gun kit and I think it comes with most of them. Worked great. Nice clean break.
