My build up iv been working on for about a year has come to a halt. I have done alot of up grades to my 1998 12 valve ext LWB 4x4, ATS Twins ( 3000 over 5000), 4" mbrp, DDP stg 2, DDP adj fuel plate, DDP delivery valves, 3k gov, ATS Arc flow manifold/T4 ex, KDP killed, ARP head studs, #60 vlv springs, ATS stg4 transmission/converter w/commander, leveled w/35's.

I started with a industrial injection Fat shaft 62, but could not get the turbo to spool till 2500-2700 rpm and egt's were out of sight. So i Swapped out for a compound set up from ATS (3000 over 5000), with a little better results. but it still takes forever to spool them up. I dont think it should take 300 ft to reach 2000 rpm to spool these twins. Maybe i am expecting to much out of this 12 valve but, i know they will do it. Could someone give a little advice on what to look for or something iv done wrong. Im trying to reach the 500-550hp range.

I'm not a 12 valve guy, so I don't have direct experience with them, however I do have an ATS compound system using the 4000 series with the stock turbo. Even with my tight converter, (1700 ish stall) If I just mash the pedal from a stop, I'll be at 40 psi before I get 50 feet. And my EGTs never go over 1100.
So, yes, something seems wrong. Do you have waste gates? Are they stuck open?

I loaded mine under lockup yesterday and it started to spool at 1300rpm but really gets cooking at 1500. Have you checked your valve lash. What is your timing set at.

Is your fuel plate and arc full forward? I have my #10 in the stock location as well as the afc housing. I did change the spring rate on the afc but can't remember which spring I used. Even with these plate locations I am getting light smoke under acceleration. If you are fueling too heavy on the bottom you may be putting the fire out

I would start by checking pulling some of the fuel out of the mix and see if your condition improves. You would also benefit by some added timing if you are still at stock settings. Something in the 16 to 17 degree range will get ya started. I agree that you are putting too much fuel in on the bottom end. You could try pulling your afc housing and fuel plate backwards and testing to see if the condition improves. It is remarkable what a little tuning can do to unleash the power of the cummins. I do not see any intake filter mods in your signature. The stock intake, even with a K&N filter, can quite restrictive with the mods that you currently have.
