That's an interesting twist for sure. So there are 3 5. 9ltr motors in 1998... . god help us.



I just spoke with B. A. R. , and they referred me to a SMOG referee. I have an appointment on monday morning to get this cleared up. I will report back after I get the ref's decision.



I was reading the thread in general topics about this Ca. smog law (all 14 pages!), and was disappointed that there is such continued confussion about this.



Below is a link to a petition that I think is worthy of signing... please take a moment to review it, and sign it too!

I have read the regs and I don't think it is a confusion issue, just a uninformed tech issue. They didn't get yours right and yet, I read Cliffman's post(in another thread) where a tech signed off on his truck which had twin turbos. Before I would go to the ref station, I would try another (or two if necessary) smog tech and give them a chance to approve you. If the ref rules against you, you will be in a big mess.
