I just did some inventory and I have 50 rounds of . 44 mag. They are reloads I made for my Dad a few years back and they have been sitting in the safe. They are lead and are not full power but if you are shooting them through a revolver or lever gun you should have no problems except enjoying the FREE ammo.

I appreciate the offer, but my beagle (Dessert Eagle) is picky about the food I give it. Jacketed or semi jacketed, and 240 grain or better. Straight up lead rounds will clog the ports and that can be a b!tch to clean out.

I will do some whining tonight to see what happens.

I'm in for sure now guys. Brother brought down my Mossberg for me, wrapped in a old coat, along with a old 50 cal ammo box full of 12 ga. shells. 10:00 or so!

Is there plenty of parking for all of us and our rigs?

There should be plenty of room for our 3 or 4 trucks. My brother isn't coming after all. Glad you're coming. I'll see you guys in the morning.

Craig

Sorry guys, I'm out for sure. Wife is leaving for Boise Idaho for 4 weeks, and we have some things to get done before I take her to DIA Sunday morn.

If you had done this next week, no problem. Oh well.

See you guys at the dyno day at least.

Sticks

Crobertson and NPloysa,

Just wanted to say thanks for a good time. Hope to see more TDR members the next time we go up including you sticks.

Kirk, Craig, yes, thanks for the good time. I enjoyed shooting your guns. Next time I will see if I can bring some others, the only one I own is the Mossberg 12 ga. but my dad has a lever action 44 mag Marlin and an old side-by-side 12 gauge, and also a single shot 20 gauge, a a Taurus 9 mm, S&W 44, and a 22 rifle and 22 pistol.

That was the first time I had been range shooting in probably 7 or 8 years, and when I do shoot at my parents its only a couple magazines or a couple shotgun rounds, just enough not to upset the neighbors.

I have a funny story about neighbors and guns. My brother and I go down to the pond (on our parents property) to shoot the muskrats that ruin our pond. We just use the 22 with CB shorts. Well, the neighbor up the road (who has moved since) was outside when we were shooting our 22. He was yelling at us about how illegal it was to shoot and that he was going to call the sheriff on us. So we beat him to it. We called the sheriff and said we were shooting muskrats on our property, well clear or people or buildings. We said the neighbor may be calling you to complain. Sheriff said he can call and complain all he wants, its legal and he can do nothing about it :)

Definitely count me in for next time! Thanks!

Nick

That was a really fun time! Nick, how is your shoulder? Kirk and Nick thanks for the rides in your trucks too! More power is a good thing. Kirk, on the way back were you toying with me? We'll have to do that again soon.

Craig

Shoulder is fine, thanks! I am not really that much of a wus. Just not used to shooting that much. I think my arm hurts more from the clay thrower!

I do want to go again soon, while the weather is still nice! Don't want another March snowstorm.

Met Crobertson1

Today I met Crobertson1 (nice guy) at the car wash(imagine that Mike L. ) I happened to pass him on Wadsworth and he pulled in behind me to have one of his windows re-tinted. Craig said I shouldn't tease a guy like him with a truck this nice. "Thanks" Any way never really meet any one other than at T. D. R. rallies so this was pretty cool.

Next TDR shoot?

Hey guys,

I'm sorry I missed the last shoot it sounded like fun.

I was out trying to call in a mountain lion with no luck.

To quote Homer Simpson "stupid stupid stupid"

Anyway, how about this for the the next Colorado TDR Shooting Team gathering?

I buddy of mine just faxed me a copy of the

6th annual Rocky Mt Fifty Caliber Shooting Association . 50 BMG Rifle and Machine Gun Shoot

May 13-16 in Cheyenne Wells CO to benefit the Cheyenne Wells Volunteer Fire Dept.

You can rent various weapons.

They will have belt feed M 60s several belt feed Brownings which fire 600 rounds/ min and even a twin MG-42 which fires 2500 rounds/min!!!

They have lots of light machine guns, Thompson M-16, Uzi, MP5s AK-47 and on and on... .

You can rent various . 50 Cal machine guns, belt feed machine guns, light arms and even an automatic shotgun!

Here is the one that interests me most under "DESTRUCTIVE DEVICES" the M79 Grenade Launcher!!!!!

It's only $5 to watch and camping is $20 per space.

All of the ammo is priced separately and varies from $15 per mag to $15 per shot for the Grenade Launcher.

You can checkout the details yourself at www.rmfcsa.org

That is too funny, Sandbrew, I was just reading about that yesterday. I am trying to get into that hobby but can't afford a 50 cal right now. The one in Cheyenne Wells sounds good, however there is also one in Raton, NM, just south of the Colorado border. I am not sure which one I want to go to. Obviously I will go to the one everyone agrees upon for the TDR gathering, but the one in Raton is 10 miles further than Cheyenne Wells but Raton is closer in travelling time.

Here is some info:

http://www.fcsa.org/matches.html

http://www.nrawc.com

The first link is match schedules, the second is the homepage of the Raton shooting range, Whittington Center.

The first schedule is Official Score Matches, the second is Combined . 50 BMG Fun Shoots.

I am assuming everyone was thinking of the May 14-16th competition. Not sure which event would be most fun, like I said they are about equal distances. One is East of Colorado Springs, the other just south of the Colorado border...

Let me know what you all think.

Nick

Longmont?

Was that a member rig I saw last night about 6:30PM ?

Southbound on 287, a few miles north of Longmont. White 2nd Gen Dually with HUGE dual stacks behind the cab that looked really cool.

I was going the other way or I'd have flagged you down.

I am going to redirect this part of the thread, the next TDR shoot get together to the events section for Colorado, look for it there.

Saw two trucks

One on C-470 between Bowles and 285 Northbound (West technically). Maroon, fender flares, topper, big tires, pillar guage HAM radio antennae. Anyone on here?

Second was on 285, just before Aspen Park. I passed you, gave you a nod. Maroon also, topper, exhaust and tip, 2 guages on pillar. Anyone?

Bueler, Bueler?

Nick

Guys,

Next Saturday the 1st, we're heading up Buffalo Creek to do some plinking. In case anyone else is interested, we'll probalbly go around 10:00.

Craig

Craig,

Kirk and I are going to go on the 1st up on Rampart Range. He is bringing his AR and some others. Probably have a grill for burgers and stuff. If you don't mind driving a little further you are welcome to come!

Kirk is going? That guy is... well, he's... he's hilarious and doesn't even know it! Where and when?

Nick, I tried to PM you but your box is full.
