To help Ram 1500 just put a 4 cylinder Cummins to 8 speed done, get rid of there Joke Eco diesel period!
That's the big brother to the 2.8 Cummins is marketing stateside for retro vehicles past a certain age (no emissions). Basically a clone of the old 4b. Rear Gear train, cam in block. Even sports an HX40 turbo.
Unfortunately I don't think they could meet tier IV in the current configuration but I could be wrong.
Agreed the fiat 4 cylinder diesel has been great. The only issue is probably software the trans shift delay is bad
Hey Family,
I am considering downsizing from my 2500 to the 1500 ecodiesel.
should I stay away from a certain year? I am currently looking at a larmarie 2015 with only 50k miles on it.
Somebody upthread mentioned Jeep. The 3L in our pickups has all the mounting bosses too low for Jeep to brag about 30” fording depth. VM developed a new block with all the same internals for higher mounting of the alternator.
It’s supposed to be a 2020 option, now.
I have a 2018 Ecodiesel. I have had several issues with it, including loss of power while towing 7k pounds up a long hill (twice), almost causing an accident both times. I was trying to maintain 65 mph. I also had the cruise control engage itself without being initiated.
As of right now, it has been in the service department for 58 days, for those issues, the fender flares peeling off and an EGR cooler failure. I still don't have a date for getting it back.
I asked FCA for a buyback a couple of weeks ago, will see where that goes. If their answer isn't satisfactory, I will be calling a lemon law attorney.
Yes in the USA. I think a few months ago.I’ve heard gde got shut down
Stop sale order is due to the egr cooler recall that pertains to some 2014-2019 eco diesels . Iirc Vb1
