So we always knew the weighsafe was never going to work but the stupid pin was siezed and we did not have the tools to remove at time of pick up, but I bought a new ball mount and pintle/ball adapter, those are all 16k rated.
Last week got the pin lock cut off with help from a friend, used a little bit of a worn down 3" air cut off wheel, always does the trick.. Just never had time to try the new ball mount out, tonight had like 20min to finally do it. I think it will work out OK.
I have 8" from the gate to the trailer, I will cut it hard at some point and make sure I cant get the trailer under the gate. Worry was if the trailer dipped down and popped back up could be under the Tommy Gate.
Before with known incorrect ball mount:
After with new longer set up. (Just in driveway work in progress missing some hardware)
Winch still has not arrived have a Warn Zeon coming one of these days, then need to mount a battery and the wiring at some point. Overkill for the trailer, but will use it with a bunch of other projects, have a few threads going where some of that was discussed.
Comments on that 8" from gate to trailer always welcome.
Trailer sat for like 10 days and we had that big tropical storm, found some parts that held alot of water so need to address that for sure and get the trailer weather proofed with Wool wax, fluid film, or something ASAP, not even safe before winter obviously. Will try to jack it up a bit higher, it was pitched a bit but can really crank it up to maybe get some better run off.
