DEF hard to find?

When was this , just checked Home Depot , you can’t even get it ordered and delivered to a store , nor any available here in a store here locally . Same with Walmart .

It was about a month ago....the Park City Home Depot. They had 7 gallons of T6 5w-40. I bought 3.

I was in Wal-Mart a few weeks back and was going to pick up a jug. None on the shelf but they go through it pretty quickly. Was in Home Depot last week and they had a sign on the register that DEF quantities were limited. Stopped at Wal-Mart a couple days ago and still none on the shelf. I asked the clerk in automotive and he said they had been out for a while. They did have a few of the Blue DEF so I picked up one just in case. Hate spending double for the same stuff but thinking it might be like toilet paper last year.
Anyone else noticed short supplies?

Advance Auto always has 3 or 4 "types"/brands of both 1 gal and 2.5 gal.

Thanks . None available I can find right now ,5/40 or 15/40 . I would take either one ,but I usually go 15/40. Have ordered it from Amazon ,as well as Walmart ,but nothing now . I did find some Rotella T5.

Good thing I bought it when I did! I was tempted to buy more. Hopefully the issue will be resolved in 6 months.

comrade - might try home depot. there is 1 store in my area ( golden co ) that shows stock of rotella. all the other stores - " unavailable " as was the farm and ranch supply store and local wal mart yesterday. just checked amazon, and your correct. all of it gone unless you buy a drum of it. I got a little panicky and decided to get a 55 gallon drum of T6 and none in my state......I have a couple of vendors looking for a drum for me.

My local Walmart is stocked with the boxes of DEF, I don't use it myself. It was there though, bottom shelf under the grease and ATF. They had some of the T6, but I didn't look that close. I get the regular Rotella 15w40 for my three diesel burners. They had plenty of the Delo and Delvac too. Now the grocery side of the store is a different story, no heavy whipping cream, the tortilla chips where cleaned out, but the toilet paper was well stocked.

yep same as around here... no Rotella anywhere, I have 6 gallons of T4 but cant use it in the 6.7. Glad I did my annual and had T6 in the cabinet so I have about a year to find more, I will probably buy 6gal when I find it since I already have filters, then I'll be semi future proof again...

Come to northern Alabama, Walmart and Tractor Supply had the diesel stuff today. Good stock of Howes anti-gel too. Still don't have much Heavy Whipping Cream or the Dannon zero yogurt! I just checked today when I picked up my chicken feed and more grocery's, TSC had an isle full of various types of motor oil, they looked fully stocked in Anniston, AL. But, my Walmart has been running low on the CRC Silicone Spray I use in my business, had to order some online. Just gotta adjust to the higher prices! Things sure have gone up in cost lately.

My local WalMart, which is almost always out of everything....and which I think is likely the worst ran WalMart in the state.....had DEF on the shelf yesterday (but still no Rotella). I didn't need any DEF but I bought a jug anyway because of what I've read here.

I will need DEF sooner than the oil, I am going to check our local Walmart ,and see if they have it. I may have to switch oil if Rotella does not show up. I did find some Mobil Delvac synthetic 15/40.

Stopped at my Napa today, they finally got my case of Napa ATF+4, on sale for $4.69. I talked to the manager about the oil shortage and he said he had 4 pallets on order and can't get any. They had one gallon of Napa 15w/40 on the shelf so I scarfed it up. Other than a small amount of Castrol, they have no diesel engine oil of any weight or brand.

He said he talked to all the auto stores in town and nobody has any. Home Depo, Walmart, Lowes and TSC are all out of Rotella, per their web sites.

I have a good supply of oil and DEF, so all is good here, for now.

a caller on a national radio show this a.m. mentioned the DEF shortage. supposedly said it will come here in january. i dunno about that, or if the caller was blowing hot air. but the fact that it was mentioned gives me pause. still no rotella at wallyworld in denver area. cheers comrades!
