That's right, diesel is taxed higher than gas. On a per gallon basis the tax is higher than the profit made by the oil companies that do all the work (drilling, pumping, refining, transporting), and politicians have the balls to call oil companies gougers.

And John Kerry has been in favor of a $. 50 hike in gas taxes.

paid $2. 19 yesterday at a truck stop 80 miles north of me, 2. 35 at the nearest truck stop... and 2. 39 and up here in town

wonder how often they check for red dye round here? we were buying that for 1. 8x for off road equipment... ;)

In my part of Western Washington, the price of diesel swung from $. 05 less than regular unleaded to $. 05 more than premuim unleaded is less than 4 weeks!

You mean "The Peoples Republic of Washington". Go Dino Rossi for Gov.

Paid $2. 25 per gallon yesterday at Port of Tacoma Flying J. Complete highway robbery.

Don't feel bad... it's the equivelant of $2. 95US/gallon here in Vancouver, BC.

$. 85/litre.

You still have room for it to go way higher!

I think its fair to say that when Diesel prices comfortably settle over $3. 00, its time for me to get a gasser. Or maybe its just a sign of the times (in SO CAL). $500k start to live in a border line decent neighborhood, $40k for a diesel truck, soon to be $3. 00/gal diesel, $3. 45 for a Latte at Starbucks, $6. 00 for a can of Skoal, $120 for NASCAR cheap seats. HELL, its just not right for a cup of Latte to cost more than a gallon of diesel. Raise diesel to $3. 45/gal and call it a day!

I'm not cheap or poor, but when fuel for a commuting pleasure vehicle cost $100 for the weekly fill-up, its time to make sacraifices.

I don't know about any of you but paying $1k+ (payment, insurance, fuel, maintenance) for a truck each month seems a little much. Or maybe I just need a better job!

Gasoline seems to fluctuate in price but always comes back down to a reasonable level. Diesel on the other hand seems to rise and drop to unreasonable levels.

Not so bad...

You think your fuel prices are high?

Come over to Italy and see...

Today, Diesel is 1. 09 Euro / liter. Doing the math, that gives $ US 5. 027 / Gallon! :{

Oh well, diesel is still 0. 20 Euro less per liter than unleaded...

Diesel Price

I'm paying about $2. 09 here in Central Indiana. It was $1. 81 a week ago. I would love to know why it jumped so much. On average it used to be about 5-10 cents cheaper than gas. This really sucks.

Anyone know how the price is in Kentucky? I'm heading to Tenn. this weekend and need to fill up. If I drive my jeep this week, I've got just enough diesel fuel to get me to Henderson, Kentucky. It is usually cheaper there.

Thanks,

Dave

Last filll was Royce city, tx on 10/01. 1. 98, the loves 3 miles west was 1. 93 but it is a pain to get into when going west. the pilot close to my house in fort worth is 2. 05 this am. Remember its heating oil stockpiling time for the northeast. also was told the refineneries are sending diesel to europe where it is selling for 3. 50+ per gallon. Time to drive at 55 all the time. I use 150+ gals a week.

Cheapest I found it for was $2. 09 near my home. One of my Powerstroke buddies told me it was because of the reduction of sulfur for 2005 EPA changes. He said they have to start introducing the new fuel into the distribution chain to get it completely switched over by Jan 1. Does anyone know when the winter fuel blend starts in Michigan? That may be increasing the price too. I was feeling good during the summer when I was paying 25 cents less than the gassers, but I don't like it when I have to pay 25 cents a gallon more :(

I've been paying $2. 17 for 2 weeks and it's $2. 24 down the street from where I live.

Had to pay (gulp) $2. 33 on the water to fill the boat. :(

All in Ct
