during the refining process, diesel is considered a "lower" grade and comes out before gasoline. therefore, diesel should cost less, because there is more of it and it takes less to make it. so why are we getting ripped? up here diesel costs the same or more than gas at times.

$1. 74/gal last friday - $51 fill up

I hear about all these "IMO" stupid boycots of gasoline companies. I am sure alot of us have second cars that burn gasoline that we could drive instead of our diesels... What would happen if we did that for a month.

If all 20k TDR members did that for the month of May, the only result would be 20k Dodge trucks with a layer of dust on them. It would not even make a noticeable squiggle in the oil companies P&L statement. If all the Dodge, Ford, and Chevy's did it for the month, they might notice it and the price would just go up a little more to recoup the losses from the Big Rig drivers. If every Diesel powered vehicle in the US did it for a month, that might get their attention, then the tree huggers would shoot a law through congress to double the price of diesel with taxes to keep the soot monsters off the road to keep the air clean, since we've gone a month so far and nobody seems the worse for wear.

$1. 70 per gallon today in Jackson, MO. Highest I've seen here. 19 cents more than my last fillup. Right now it would only take 75 gallon to fill me up. Heading to Indiana Thursday. we'll see how high it gets there.

averaging $2. 43 today in central Cali, Premium Unleaded is $2. 33...

this is unprecendented (@least in my CTD experience, which, admittedly, is brief, but still... . ) & reeeeealllly sux!

it'll be nice when election time rolls around so bush's buddy prince bandar can help out & give us all a break on fuel prices... .

Came through Mississippi last week on I-20, can't remember the town, diesel @ 1. 459. It's still 1. 589-1. 619 here at home.

I finally gave in and pumped 34 Gal. at $2. 39 or so. I didn't fill the Aux tank though, it holds 45 gal but I'm keeping it empty till fuel goes down a tad.

Gary, you crack me up!

I will probably give in and fill the Aux here in a few more days. I like the security of carrying a lot of diesel.

Here is Kodiak, AK it has reached 2. 10 in town but still 1. 97 on the military base. Don't think the prices will ever come back down and if they do they won't drop to the 1. 50 range.
