The price is already rising here. 15cts more per gal than regular where I buy fuel. It's no surprise. Home heating season is upon us and the Northeast traditionally uses oil for home heat.

I'm seeing Diesel in NJ- 2.05 to the teens, in NYC 2.50-3.00
Regular in NJ is 1.60-80 and NYC is 2.40.
NJ is about to slam a big fuel tax increase.

Interesting what does water do to the SCR system, and why would this trigger a "limp" mode.Bob 4x4 what was the difference of the SCR system from 2015-2016.

Maybe this isn't really a new design after all, because the rumor was the HD's won't get a complete redesign until 2019, preceded by the 1500's in 2018. Maybe this is just a grill redesign (and minimal at that) and an engine change?

I'll bet there is a hood scoop hiding under there, along the front edge of the hood.......like the new Toyota's...........

Sam...

Ok I seen one person ask and none since. Why is this say 2500 and not 3500s as well The Cummins 6.9L is the same in both 2500s and 3500s emissions should be the same on both.

Unless someone says otherwise, they will likely recall both 2500's & 3500's. But are starting with 2500's.

If you have a 6.9L ISB, it's bigger than my 6.7 Cummins

In regards to def it is time sensitive item. I have 35,000 miles 20,000 of it towing. I buy it at truck stops if possible . Walmart def I have used many times with no problems . I just check the dates if over a month old I pass. When not towing I try to keep it no higher then half , since it uses so little that it takes forever to use it up. I guess I have just been lucky.

Newsa you are correct the case is before the court in eastern Mich.EPA/CARB want all 2013-2015 RAM 2500/3500 SCR systems replaced.FCA and Cummins are in court to decide what is the best way to handle this. It seems that Cummins is OK with paying FCA the 40 million in labor and parts for the trucks it has already repaired. But also in the court doc's I read it seems that FCA want's a 3 party vendor for help in the replacement SCR tank, they both believe that there are not enough SCR in the system to repair all by spring not sure about the nozzle assembly.A emission system software up date as well will be included as part of the fix,Cummins states negiable loss of fuel mileage will occur.Cummins what all trucks completed by the spring of 2018.Not sure when they will reappear in court,it seems as though both sides what this fix fast.Opening statement by attorny for Cummin's stated it's reputation is on the line here.

Cummins is reconfiguring their entire on-highway engine line to meet the 2017 greenhouse gas standards. The Interact System is history, so the "IS" is gone from model designations... ISX15 will be just X15, ISL9 will be L9. The new B6.7 will be ready for medium duty trucks in early 2017, and is projected to improve fuel economy by 7% for mediums. The Ram version will be adopted as soon as it's ready, and most likely will be considered either a 2017.5 or 2018 model depending on release date to FCA. Previously photographed test mules showed a scoop somewhat similar to the 2017 Chevy/GMC Duramax trucks.

I will wait for the NON-EGR engine, The Rumor Here In Fridley MN, The New NON-EGR motor would require Better oil filtration and Cut the service to 8-10K miles, Some think that keeping the EGR is essential for customers that want the 15K service, I would prefer to pay more for the NON-EGR engine and service more just not to look at that pesky device bolted to My exhaust and Intake. The NON-EGR engine treat the NOx in the cylinder, the process soot's up the oil ,so the need to filter better and change lube more often.

The engine still would Have SCR & DEF exhaust.

So this is in cylinder EGR. Isn't that what the the last 5.9 had?

Similar, The 5.9 Injector was limited on events, and the turbo would not work to create the Backpressure at idle. All speculation on My part.

As I recall, the 3rd gen Common Rail 5.9's did in cylinder EGR thru cam timing... basically closing the exhaust valve before the piston had reached the top of the stroke and thus not yet evacuated all the exhaust gas.
