I made contact with Black Market Performance via email (the only way per their website) and learned they include the top hose with the wye and clamps when ordered and shipping is only 5 bucks to the west coast.

I priced out the 2015 upper hose and the cheapest I found it was around $65. I priced the Gates 20957 hose and they are around $17 each. That's the direction I'm going to go. You cannot (by my estimation) remove the plastic part wye from the stock hose as I believe the plastic part is longer than the aluminum part replacing it. Plus, I'll keep the stock part just because I can always use a backup.
I am wondering if Ill need to reuse the metal support ring that is on the stock hose. It does come on the 2015 model too so it looks like it might be a necessary part but I'd have to make sure it doesn't rub a hole in the new hose if used. Any thoughts?

The aluminum replacement is the same length, I have mine already. You do not need new hoses if your hoses are in good shape. I also verified this with Black Market Performance, you can cut the plastic bands of the plastic part, remove it, and insert the aluminum part in it's place.

I haven't had time to do the research yet as to location of a drain for the cooling system, or how much coolant I'll need to fill her back up after the replacement, or if there is any special cooling system bleed procedure. If anyone can fill in any of the blanks, please do, I'm hoping to change out the part this weekend.

Looks like I might have another $50 dollar item on the shelf item I don't need. I looked at my nephews '16 and saw the support bracket. It's a long hose for them but not for us with the wye. I was curious about the cooling system drain as well. I can drain a little and then take the hoses off likely without losing too much fluid. Maybe pinch the overflow off too. But I will likely need to pick up a gallon of the new stuff.

I installed the billet wye this last weekend. It went smoothly except I thought about using the old hoses as suggested but when I looked at getting that plastic band off the ends of the plastic wye, I thought better of it and just cut the Gates 20957 hoses that I purchased. So now I have a backup that I'd better not need.
The clamps that come with the Black Market part are pretty small and I couldn't get one to clamp over the hose and the barbs. Not sure why one of them was this tight and I got the other one to work. Anyone else with this issue? I wish I could have used the other t-bar clamp that came with the part.
I lost a quart or two of coolant so I had to buy the liquid gold (purple really) from Dodge and refill the reservoir as there is no conventional radiator cap that I could see. So far, so good no leaks! I did overfill the reservoir by maybe an inch or so. Is that a problem or will the system bleed out the air and use what it needs? I can pull some out if need be. All in all, it took me about 35-40 minutes and I did reuse the metal support loop that was on the old hose.
We will see how she does in the heat when I tow the 5er again!

ProLean, I ordered the Black Market "Y" with the hose. It's been shipped but I don't have it yet. If the clamps don't fit over the hose they provide I'll report it on this thread.

Got a picture? Lets see it!

I installed mine last Friday evening, no issues with the supplied clamps. I also had an extra T-Bar clamp I used on the outlet on the motor. No leaks, or issues of any kind. Nice to finally not smell coolant in the cab. Blackmarket Performance says the lower Y is the same as the upper, so I'm going to change the lower Y at some point in the future so I don't have to worry about that stranding me in the back country.

Did you use the stock hoses without the plastic wye? I wonder if the Gates hoses were a bit thicker? I will also plan on changing out the lower wye as well. I have heard that the lower wye does not have the failure rate of the upper hose.

Yes, just cut the plastic bands off of the stock Y and put the aluminum Y in place..

I got bit by this last night. Pulling wagons out of the field I kept getting a faint whiff of coolant but nothing was dripping under the truck so I didn't think too much of it. Came out this morning and there was a nice sized puddle under the truck, after a little investigating I found the wye to be the culprit  I ordered up the piece from Black market, thanks to you guys for doing the leg work on this.

[It's awesome that the aftermarket has a replacement part for this hose.... However where is the recall on this part? Mine just failed yesterday. My Dealer/ parts Guy says every truck they sold that has this fitting has failed and on some trucks have failed numinous times. He's got a message in his computer to keep a min of 5 hoses in stock at all times. They are recalling the water pump for a few failures I'll bet percentage wise the failure rate is way higher for this part than the water pump. And the current list price for the hose is now $100 even. With all the headaches I've had with this truck it's really making me question even considering a Ram for my next truck.... /B]

Well that is a decision you will have to make but I look at the competition and I think I will stay right here!

X2...another area is your sources for info, the TDR1 members are seasoned owners in some cases over 20+ years, Example the Ram Ecodiesel at the 1500deisel.com I've never read so much fake news and fixes in My life that sticks on that forum ALL promoted by a few Moderators. Its the blind leading the blind at that forum, The TDR1 you never find the Mods in most of the threads or dictating the posts...Being a Ram owner IMO its mandatory to be a member here. Yep the CF may have more members but its Not the season owners here.

Pure Diesel Power has two options available. A welded aluminum y pipe or a solid billet y pipe. I chose the solid billet with T clamps. I cut the plastic clamps off and reused the original hoses.
