We have had DSL at home for about 1 1/2 years. I really like it. Download speeds are 640k and upload is 256k. The phone like is still available, and there is no interference between the two. Add an ethernet switch and you have a home network. Because the DSL router uses NAT (Network Adderss Translation), it acts as a fairly secure (at least this is what I am told) firewall. More secure than cable because you do not share a LAN segment with your neighboors. Cost is $10 more than dialup ISP + 2nd phone line.
