It was asked how hot a DTT trans got in stop and go,I can answer this, and the crawl test. My 89% runs cooler plowing snow, which is low speed, heavy load, stop and go,constantly,it can also crawl up and over 6-8" curbs with a 9'2" plow blade full of snow,at crawl speeds,in 4 hi,I do it all the time at my curbed accounts where stacking space is tight,I slowly drive up til i hit the curb wit hte tires, then blip the throttle ,and over it goes. My ram will go right over the curb, not even a struggle, and the truck weighs 10-11K lbs while plowing. Trans temps, usually run 155-170 while plowing, but my peak has been 210 in the hot line,a one time thing, and when i travel on the road with the plow on,between accounts it quickly drops to 140-150. The stock Tc ran 10-25 degrees hotter in the same situations. My ram plows for 5-20 hrs straight in a big storm,so if the TC was to tight or going to make it overheat,it would have happened by now. This truck has over 400hp,and the truck tows ocasionally, plows every storm, and gets hot rodded too,in between work,it has held up to all of this so far.
