Had to get a new VP44 a few weeks ago after a moment of foolishness.
Thought all was well but then the throttle developed a mind of its own. Figured my APPS had gone south so read up on the forums all I could. Tried the battery disconnect/throttle to the floor reset without success... still got surging then idle. Pulled the plastic assembly off the engine and discovered the 6 wire plug into the APPS was halfway out. Too easy... cleaned it up a little, plugged it all the way in, did the battery/throttle gig and voila.
Forgot to mention I used my Actron scan tool to give me a clue - three codes all pointed to the APPS. Cleared those, went for a test drive doing errands around town. After third or fourth stop/start the check engine light went out and I was a happy dude!
This forum is great - I'm sure without it I'd have ended up with a big bill from the dealer trying to get this fixed.
Thanks guys!
