edge comp box had every other bar lit this morning?

started truck this morning edge drag comp box had every other bar lit ...



the box was off when i shut the truck down



box would not respond at all



drove to work, started back up and viola everything is normal



any thoughts?

edge is sending me another

mine is only 1 month old i have heard the 2001-2002 boxes were having trouble

call Edge they will help you out, they were great to deal with

YUP - had the exact same problem with mine - Edge replaced it nearly a year ago - replacement still going strong...

Had almost the same at the end of last winter. On two different mornings on startup the DDUFM was on. Truck ran rough and set codes. Tried to turn the box off or change settings and nothing would happen. May call Edge this time.

Check the ground is it going to the battery? if not it should

mine has done that 2, but only when i bump the starter to get the lift pump to pressurize the system, them it goes back to normal when i start the engine. let me know if this is ok, or should i call edge?

edge is great to deal with if anyone has problems they should call them !

I'm on Comp number three. Had one regular go bad, upgraded to Drag when I got the replacement, then it went bad and got a new drag.



Every time I've called them they ask for my address, ship me a new one overnight, and include a return label for the old one to go back. They do require a CC# to prevent you from keeping a free Comp, but that is to be expected.

ditto the ground. i ended up grounding mine to the left front fender along with the stock wire direct to the negative terminal. no trouble since.

Comp Edge

Hi guys,

Installed my edge comp yesterday and none of the lights come on, there's 12 volts checking between the black and red wires into the comp and a check engine light on the dash. No codes. Soon as everything dries off around here I'll get back back out and check my connections(soldered the pump wire) but it seems to me that the least the darn thing could do is light up. Aaghhhh! Anybody have any ideas I'd appreciated hearing them.

Same thing happened to me also. I started my truch and my comp. I pressed all the buttons and dissconnected it from the harness,,,,nothing. I then poped off the fuse pannel and played with the wires and then every other bar was lit. dissconected the tap and re installed it and now all is fine.

Edge Comp

Turned on the key, the lights lit up on the comp, the check engine light was out..... Hey, this thing never peeled out like that before. .

Hi Guys,

went out to the truck this morn, thinking of how much fun its going to be to drive. Stupid comp won't come on, check engine light is on. It seems to work when it wants to. I did change the ground to the battery, but that didn't help. Then it decides it wants to work again. . woohoo, sure makes a difference. I'm wondering if I should send it back, this is ridiculous. Anybody else having this much trouble?

I had to unlug both the MAP and data connections after running for a while, used a liberal amount of dielectric grease in both connectors and no probs since.

I've had the same thing happen to mine, (everyother bar lit up) and I just shut the truck off and start it back up and always works after that. I was having other problems with it not coming back on when I shut the truck off with the box off but when I took the ground to the battery all that went away. A friend of mine's does the same thing (every other bar lit up) and he turns the truck off and starts it back up and problem goes away for him too. No codes set for either of us.

i called edge after finding out mine has been doing the same thing. . seems they have had a prob with version 7. 0 and the program locking. there's a version 8. 0 out and for the price of shipping the comp box to them, they will fix it and pay to have it shipped back. im just waiting till after thanksgiving to ship mine off. call edge, there a big help.

how do you know which version you have



and can you send it back with a bigger turbo on, i need the boost fooler

The version # and date of manufacture are on the silver sticker on the box. Currently Edge is up to version #8 for both the comp and drag comp. There is, however, an old adage that might ought to be followed (not that I always live by it) and that is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it. " That being said if you have a version older than #8 and are having issues with the box, then by all means, send it back for an update otherwise no issues, run what you've got.
