Electronic flasher unit

What are you guys using for your flasher unit???



I added some extra turn signal lights for better visability and now the stock flasher unit can't flash the extra lights (too many??).

I tried to buy a electronic flasher but the local parts stores don't have one that will allow the fuse panel door to close.



I had one turn signal light on each side and I added one more for a total of 2, but I wanted to add 1 more for a total of 3, but am going to wait until I get this flasher problem solved to add the 3rd one.

If your truck has the short flasher(some later models have a solid state unit) you should be able to finds a HD in the short model. bg

I took my cover off and sanded down the hump from the finger hole to accomodate the flasher. Had to sand off about half the height on a belt sander. Would'nt know it was done if you had not seen it before.

Here's what I found, TRIDON/Stant has a flasher called EL12.

Its working good and fits without having to modify the fuse cover.

Stant flasher

I've had one installed for a little over a month. It fits easily with no mods.



I don't push it too hard since I only pull a boat trailer on occasion. , so I can't tell ya how it holds up under big current loads. Supposed to last 10X longer than the "normal" types.

I have one and it works great my trailer has 4 tail/turn lights and 11 marker lights I have had for about a year with no problems
