inreality , there is a lot more to it , its is aids in freeing up about 80 to 100 hp that is lost , and that is about the extent of what I'm going give away.

hey since your building a cummins up i figure you can awnser my question for sure and thats do these things have sleeves like the big engines or are the cast in block liek gassers

no linners , just block, and its hard , try to hone it with anything but the right stones and its is ugley also the torque plate is a must , it distorns a lot if you dont

The seals in a Cummins are already backwards, that a trick we do in Chevy’s to hold vacuum. Here are a few teasers of my new turbo and top end. The turbo is courtesy of Brady at Indusial injection.

The long block is ready, and waiting on injector lines, I believe they are on pony express, and the pony is a little long in the tooth. I went to flow the head today, and the owner of the bench I now use almost freaked when I wheeled in the head on a two wheeler, and was going to set it up on his new computerized $20,000 machine. On a bet we weighed it , its was a whapping 130 lbs , a stock one weighs in a 153 lbs and the cast iron manifold we cut off weights 12 lbs so add a pound for the metal we milled off and you have some where around 10 lbs of metal ported out of the head.

Ray Little is still hurting form grinding. But I will put this head up against any Cummins in the country, and we still have a few more areas to explore. To make a quick comparison, I have the numbers from the head on Sidewinder, and this head is 25 cfm better across the board, and 40 better up high. That what you get, when you let a NASCAR engine builder loose, with a grinder and a real challenge , I’ve seen Ray spend a whole Saturday dynoing to find 3 average hp out a water pump impellor on a Nextel cup motor . This kind of dedication to process engineering is what will put this little truck in the seven second zone.

Remember it’s in this order you make power in any engine AIRFLOW, AIRFLOW and AIRFLOW, this is accomplished with a good aggressive cylinder head program and a matching camshaft program. The rest is just accessories

Because intercoolers take time to cool the air, the flow through this motor combined with the 8-7 seconds that it will be running boost wouldn't be enough time to cool the air to any effect. Im sure there are other reason's also.

Also at this level it's just a restriction that's not needed- that's where water and Nitros come into play.....

If you remember, we had a submerged ice box intercooler, and it weighed 120 pounds. Took it off, and the intake air temp went up 150 degrees, and the car ran just as fast. Theory is not always reality.

o. k. Scott your rite with that point, but how bout a counterpoint- Why plumb it if it's not needed?

That's just more plumbing boots to blow off and possible leaks? You guys move enough air that a intercooler is not needed. And then there's the effects of H20 injection and even N20 injection have on E. G. T. 's... ..... ;)

Remove the weak link, and the shortest chains are the strongest chains... ... :D

Anybody here from that Fletcher 'feller? He got quiet lately..... Oo.

That's alot of port grinding if that is true... Care to elaborate on some port volume #'s ? ?

Fletcher is alive and well in the NW. Miss his banter.

My point on the intercooler is this: Salt Flats, OK, Pulling, OK, and Street OK, but for drags, hmmmmm. . not for me. Tried it. Did not see the benefit, with using Nitrous and Water.

KISS method: Keep It SImple, Stupid

Then we must be agreeing with each other here.....

Yeah- I miss his humorous banter too!Oo. Must be getting too cold out there for flaming spandex and headbands... ... ... :p

cool intake greg but, HOW THE HECK ARE YOU GOING TO GET YOUR INJECTOR LINES ON?

The Fat Kid

Andy

Greg has a set of wireless injector lines coming for this project from me. Top secret :-laf ..... He is doing the common rail super high pressure P Pump driven Piezo injector driver wazoo special. Level 2 of course.

thought I would show you a little of the great water jet work that Stan and Mat Thomas from S&T water jet have done for me . they under stand racing as both have been involved in racing from Eddie Hills top fuel car to the many comp cars Al Weiss and my self have run to the Pro Mod car Mat now drives , long story they are racer and understand what you are trying to relate to them and what you want them to cut out of any material for you. You can send them a drawing or file and the part will be in the mail as son as you need it. All or the manifold and oil pan parts were drawing by and cut by them their number is 940 851 8055
