Archived Engine cutng out

Just drove from long beach to calabassas, about 80 miles, and my engine cut out at least 5 times. Fuel pressure never dropped below 12 psi, what could it be?

Sorry, not sure how to signature,
2001 2WD 5speed, fass direct replacement lift pump mounted at tank, gauges and Edge easy.

The usual culprits are the VP44 fuel injection pump, the ECM, or the camshaft position sensor.



Did you get a check engine light?



Have you checked for trouble codes?

Didn't get engine light and it through no codes. Drove the truck home and didn't stumble at all? I did fill up the truck right befor I left

Check for codes anyways. Engine off, key to run, back to off, run, off, then run again. 1. 5 seconds between each switch. Watch your odometer window for ECM and PCM codes. P1693 will mean there is a code in one or the other companion modules.

Have a pen and paper handy to write the codes down.
