At some point this summer my truck stopped being able to turn off with the ignition. Since then I've had to pop the hood to kill the engine. Can you tell me how to fix this? It's running great otherwise.

Brian,

It's probably the fuel shutoff solenoid. It's on the rear side of the injector pump. It may also be a loose wire on it. Check for posts on the solenoid.

I'm pretty sure the wire being loose would cause the truck to die, not to continue running. When disconnected, it closes due to the spring, shutting the truck off.

Yup, bad wire would make it shut off. You probably chipped the end off the plunger, it has a rubber tip. If you put in a new solenoid it may do the same thing. ( can't buy just the plunger) Take the old one and turn the end down on a lathe, then use a fine file on it. I had my buddy do one, it's been working for about 3k now.
