What about non-electrical mods? Should I swap the AFE back to the stock air box before I go in for oil changes?
Thanks... ... . Steve
Depends on the dealer.
If they get a bug up their butt, you'll find out and will be without.
Mine noted my color change of my antifreeze after the LP issue/argument that I owned them on, after first trying to reason with them on and had then finally had to refuse to leave till they called Cummins and changed it under warranty. Everything I said was backed up by Cummins.
So if I got a cracked #53 block, you know I'd be heading for court.
But with a month left on my 7year warranty. . I'll be left holding the #53.
I forget what the AFE is comprised of.
If it's an oil'ed element, the filter counts on the oil to trap the finer particles.
When the oil drys out, then what?
Some fuzzy info from 7 years of reading... ...
I've read in some older postings that the oil'ed type filters were recommended for oil burners for a few reasons.
Also I think I read somewhere that part of the emissions systems is the air cleaner and it's assembly. If that's true, it's another issue with the dealer yanking a warranty.
I have no power bombs on my truck, so haven't looked in to changing the filter. I have no EGT issues and even with a real dirty filter, I haven't pulled down on the minder.
The dealers are selling them for the gassers, but not the oil burners... uhhm, wonder why?
Your gamble.
Very dealer dependant.
