I've read several posts about people that have gotten their new 04 and got Sirius Satelite Radio in it for free. One thread they said that that if you purchase a new DC vehicle you can get a subscription for 1 year free :D :D . There was some one else that recently had post in an unrelated thread that said they got Sirius radio installed for free and a lifetime subscription  ($400. 00 value deal available from Sirius only until the end of Jan 04)

My new 04 will be in in the next week or so and I want to take advantage of this deal. Anybody know the details on how to make this happen. There doesn't seem to be too much info on it. Thanks Jay

The Gouge....

I have talked to the people at Sirus about this deal, and I got it for my '03 3500, which I pick up 12/29, but is sitting at the dealer as we speak in Alabama. Originally, the Sirius deal ended 12/4, but it has been extended by Sirius. The two Dodge Dealers I talked to knew nothing of the deal, so call Sirius on the customer info. line, 1-800-539-7474, for the straight skinny.

Bottom line is as follows:

1. You buy the Sirius radio and install kit and put it in your new Dodge.

2. You get the Sirius radio ID number, the 5 digit dealer code, and a 3 digit promotion code from the dealer.

3. Call Sirius and give them this information and you get a FREE lifetime Sirius subscription!! ($400. 00 value)

The Sirius radio ID number is with your radio; the dealer code and promotion code come from the dealer (if the dealer does not know the promotion code have them call their Sirius supplier. )

The deal is good until all of the Sirius radios manufactured during a certain time period (I don't know the time period) are registered for use. Sirius knows if you qualify for the deal by the Sirius ID number on the radio. Again no deadline on the deal, it is good until all of the radios built in the mystery time period are sold and registered. If you have questions call Sirius, I have dumped all of my knowledge into this post. Hope it helps. :D

Freebie Zilch Nothing Nada

LawDog you Da Man :D Oo. Oo.

I have one question. As far as the "radio" purchase, are you talking about purchasing a new stereo for the truck or are you just talking about the purchase of the Sirius radio receiver kit.

It would be a good excuse to slide out the stock DC CD player and in with Mr. Kenwood.

If you have any knowledge of this please let us know. Great job on the reasearch you've done. Thanks for the info.

Be careful what you wish for!

I got the free radio and lifetime subscription but so far it has not been worth the hassle. The dealer I purchased from installed the receiver and antennae and activated the radio. The sirius worked or about 8 hours till I got home and from then on nothing. The other functions on the radio work (am & fm), but nothing out of the sirius. The selling dealer is 8 hours away and I have taken it to another Dodge dealer and they said take it back to where you bought it. Called the customer service hot line, the first person hung up on me and the second that I talked to said it is a sirius problem call the. Sirius says the signal is activated so it must be a hardware problem. The old it is not my fault story! The long and short of the story is that the receiver is a restricted part and some dealer who gives a rip will have to check everything out and then if the receiver is found to be faulty they will ship a new radio. So my choices are to just live without it or to spend at least 1/2 day driving to the nearest dealer and sitting around while they check the connections etc and then if the receiver or radio is bad I get to make a second trip and kill another 1/2 day of work. This is twice in the last month that I have had problems with Dodge and restricted parts! I told the customer service people that I had been a Ford man until the last 2 Dodge pickups but if I had one more problem with restricted parts that I personally would do my best to discourage anyone and everyone from buying a Dodge or Chrysler product! The closest local dealer was willing to order a receiver to have so if it was bad they could just replace it and save me a trip but Chrysler will not let them do that and I hear that the receivers are on back order now! So becareful what you wish for! You may get it!

RGardner, sorry to hear about your problems.

Torque King, the Sirius tuner or receiver that you buy plugs into the back of your stock Dodge radio if you have the RAZ or RBQ radio. It gets mounted under the dash and you use it kind of like you use a remote mounted CD changer with a stock radio (Just put push a button on the stock head unit to get it on the "Satellite band" and tune with the stock head unit) Now that doesn't mean that it wouldn't work with a Kenwood... and if your wife were to ask one could always say that the stock unit was not compatible, the that the Kenwood was "necessary"... ;)

love my sirius radio, only listen to broadcast radio when i have to. an i think it is better than my wifes xm setup. i did a self install, very easy except mounting receiver behind parking pedal. get it you will not be sorry. hey lawdog1 need me to go test drive your truck for you since you are in hawaii and i am in bama. be happy to test an 04 out.

I called the number shown and got a recorded message saying it was not a good number.

The correct number is 1-888-539-7474

Edit: Jut got off the phone with Surius. The free lifetime subscription offer is only good through select Dodge dealers in the south west US. They confirmed that the offer was good in AZ and NM, but not CO were I ordered my truck, so I get to spend $400 for the subscription. Hopefully, the offer may be extended by the time I take delivery. I'm kind of bummed out about this as I could have bought the truck closer to home and saved money.

Thanks for the research results klenger.

Unfortunately I live in southwest Ohio near Cincinnati and the truck was ordered through a dealer in northwest PA :( :( so it looks like I'll have to front the $400 for the lifetime subscription.

I have to call my dealer tomorrow. My truck should be there any day. I'll ask him if he's heard anything about the Sirius deal. I'll let you guys know if I find out anything. Jay

Re: The Gouge....

I call them today, they told me that this promotion is only available in the Southeast. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and it's not available here. :{

Well Klenger calls and they say, "only good in the SW", Big Bob and I call and they say, "good in the SE. " Guess that means we got the South covered by the deal... Pony up Yankee's make your phone call... let's see what they say. Ha, Ha!:p
